I don't have any measurements from before but it feels like the startup time is even slower than it already was. Do you guys feel the same or am I just getting more impatient?
Has the startup time gotten even longer with 7.x.x?

after install, first boot process is always longer than later boots.
-
Well , some old tube amps take some time to heat up too
I´ve noticed that if I have 900+ rigs instead of 20 rigs in
the KPA , startup time is a bit longer , but then I start it a
little bit earlier, so it´s OK in the end anyhow
Cheers !

Yeah I know, but just regular startup feels slower than it used to be too.
Hm, maybe I should reduce the amount of rigs. (239 now) -
maybe I should reduce the amount of rigs
yes, do it
-
maybe a few users could kindly share their boot times and the number of rigs stored internally (and OS version)

Why not .... 836 rigs 54 sek startup OS 6
I have "many" rigs because I use the KPA in my studio for other
guitarists and bass players and sometimes even keyboards
Tip : Compare your KPA startup time with your SmartPhone startup time just for "fun"
Cheers !

42 seconds boot up and I have 86 profiles onboard...
-
Just one thought : maybe the number of "Stomp´s" in every Rig
affects the startup time as well ? ( More data to "sort out" ........ )
Not that I care , I´m in no hurry
Cheers !

Funny to think how long it would take to turn on and warm up 836 amps!

I think the hottest thing in the house would be the fuse box ....

In these difficult times it could serve as a make shift barbacue.
Funny thing is my profiler has zero profiles on it,

Those "zero" profiles you got .... Are they any good ?
Wanna share them ???
Cheers !

Hardware: Non-powered head from 2015
OS: 7.2.2.16146
Rigs: 808
Boot-time: 1:08
Time till remote-ready: 1:19 (9 sec after the main unit)
I don't know how much integrity-checking is done at startup, but it it either a lot or the unit must have very slow NVRAM.
The extra time waiting for the remote is frankly unnecessary. The current implementation reies fully on periodic retries to connect. Recent firmware delay power-on to the remote in an attempt to align the boot processes for each unit, but it is hit or miss whether they both are ready at the exact same time. The better approach would be to make both units work as broadcast transmitters and receivers and make the first unit that get a swift response (<100ms) to a "hi anybody there" message responsible for establishing the connection. That would eliminate any unnecessary waiting for the other unit to become active.

Well the memory modules are from 2009 so it's safe to say that it's not blisteringly fast by 2020 standards...

Consistant, every day in all locations they sound the same.
The only dissapointment is the gain knob doesn't affect the over all tone but I have to say I do get that "turned off amp in the room" sound 24/7.

On a serious note I only save performances with amps in, I don't store hundreds of amp to browse through, that's what Rig Manager is for.
