wow, could have fooled me with that one..very nice
-
Sweet!
-
Wow. Bill, you are amazing.
-
Unbelievable!!
Please please please, more profiles of the VG system.....these are sooooooo nice...
-
There used to be a very good 'jump' (as in van halen) patch available for the vg99. It would be fantastic if someone could profile that (hint hint)
-
That would be cool!
I did this Jump sound with the Roland VG-99:http://soundcloud.com/bill-ruppert/obx-vg-99
I am afraid it takes a hex signal to pull it off so for now not possible....
-
I am working on getting more VG sounds.
The Kemper profiles VG-99 amp sounds very well.
Its amazing how well the "footprint" of any modeler or distortion pedal can be captured. with the Kemper.
I have never heard anything that can do this.
Its the top end that the Kemper duplicates that blows me away.
I have spent many HOURS eq-ing and spectral matching units only to have the Kemper do it in a simple profile. If you listen to the top end of what you profile its just mind bending how close it.
That upper stuff is the hardest to get right. -
Thanks for the reply Bill. Ive been amazed at your VG99 profiles so far.
That jump sound is enough to invest in a VG99 for sure. Great sound with none of the guitar synth tracking issues. Wow. -
As I've said elsewhere, this Dobro patch is amazing.
I get two things by listening to your profiles and watching your videos: 1) I totally underestimated the VG99, and probably should have owned one years ago, and 2) I could stand some guitar lessons.
-
Bill, you are indeed the master! Have you tried anything with the Superego Synth Engine and the KPA?
-
Hi Bill,
What you have done with the VG-99 is amazing, any chance you can do the nylon string guitar?
Thanks.
-
Thanks guys!
I am working on the nylon now, but Its hard as the nylon sound is VERY much about the attack/release of the sound.
Its a plastic string and making a metal string sound the same requires more than just eq changes,
BUT....with the new gates who knows it might work. The EHX Superego is a time based effect so its no able to be profiled.
The Superego is an amazing effect that opens the world of granular synthesis to guitar players.
Here is the demo I did for EHX.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO3A_nhNf54
It plays great in the effect loop of the Kemper. -
Yes, I saw that demo and was impressed with the sounds. After that I went through a bunch of the other Effectology videos you did and now am truly certain that you are a complete genius!
-
Hi Bill,
Actually, I understand the limitation for steel strings, but I was a asking for a precise reason. I have a Carvin NS-1(nylon strings with piezo system) and I really have a hard time getting the bass strings treble under control and when listening to your dobro I though it might just be what I need.
Thanks.

Hi bill,
i have a VG99 and i try to figure how to capture the models but i can't.
Can you tell me what you do in order to profile the dobro?
If i'm not wrong the dobro is only available with the GK3 (or piezo system with the Hex cable).
