Extremely low volume using ToneJunkie Profiles routed through the SPDIF outputs

  • Hi guys, this is driving me nuts and I can't find a fix.

I also emailed the guys at Tonejunkie but don't know how to fix it either.

    Here's my problem:

My Kemper is hooked up to my UA Apollo Twin via SPDIF. I have set the Kemper SPDIF outputs to "Master Stereo".

It works absolutely fine for all profiles but when I switch to a ToneJunkie profile the volume drops down by like 60dB and becomes unusable.

If I change the SPDIF output to "Git Studio" while using a ToneJunkie profile everything is fine.

I bought quite a few ToneJunkie profiles which makes this incredibly annoying.

I attached a free ToneJunkie profile and a free AmpFactory profile.

    The amp factory works fine.

Can someone who also uses the SPDIF output please check if you get the same volume issue as me?

    Profiles.zip

  • Maybe a "stoopid" question, but is the volume settings in ALL parameters set

to same value on both profiles ? ( Rig , amp, stomps ( if any ) outputs left/ right / mono ?

Is it the same issue with headphones out from KPA ?

    Cheers !

  • Part 2 :

Hmmm .... I read some days ago about a "bug" in cab settings ...... :/

One of the parameters should be set at zero , but I don´t remember

which one .... I don´t have that problem myself, so I did not pay much attention :pinch:

Try to adjust settings in cab section and se what happens :/

    Found it :

  • Strange .... Do you have any pedals hooked up to KPA ?

    ( Switch / Pedal input 1 and 2 )

Check volume pedal settings in "SYSTEM" ..... ( I think )

    Edit :

It´s in Rig parameter .... See page 120 in Manual 7.0.

And you can place volume pedal pre or post Amp section.

Can make a big difference if set too low pre Amp ......

  • Dude, you are the man!!!

I have a pedal hooked up and it was acting weird. I just unplugged it, rebooted the Kemper and now everything seems fine.

Maybe my Pedal is dodgy. I'll keep an eye on it!

    Thanks for the tip!

  • Hallelujah moment & fredagsmys :thumbup::thumbup:

Glad to hear that it´s working fine ( for now )

    Rock on !

  • But still strange that it had so big impact on ToneJunkie´s profiles .... :/

Well, strange things happens sometimes
