Is there anyone out there on this forum who is an amplified harmonica player (in the last year) and has had good success creating good profiles from their harmonica tube amps?

I've had a look around and all I can find is MuddySludge revealing what he used on this recording:
Here:
"Cordless Postal Telemic with M.Britt's 58 Deluxe"
I used an SM57 with a Dumble on this one.
I used a 410 Bassman a red bullet mic with Pitch Morphing on this one.

Nice stuff mate, sounds really well. Overall and especially the harmonica. Great examples
Actually I love my Kemper for all kinds of signals during recording and mixing. Sometimes I rather reamp things through the Kemper than digging for another plugin. So much creative space in that machine. Still loving it more every day
Thanks MuddySludge for the reply. I've also found this fellow, but he's not been active for some time: https://www.kemper-amps.com/fo…t/42630-mascosoundsystem/ However, he's seems to be the only one that's dived more deeply into the whole profiling thing with harp amps.
cheers, Carlos
Hi Carlos,
welcome to the family!
The procedure is exactly the same. You can set the amp the way you would use it for harmonica, and profile it using the instructions in the manual.
Also, look at the below thread. I remember a harmonica player saying that he found quite a few useful rigs.

This! Same here, Michael.
The point, Carlos, is that any instrument you normally play through an amp can be accommodated by the Kemper. It's like paults said, just set things up to your tastes and Profile away.
Thanks paults and Monkey_Man,
Is it definitely better to profile with two mics (reading a good quality ribbon and Shure 57) is a good way to start)?
The one thing that is stumping me without having tried to do a profile yet of one my own tube amps is, if using two mics, besides making sure they are in phase, is it best (I have a Prism Sound Atlas USB audio interface with really good transparent mic pres) to use one's recording DAW to listen first and blend with some tests before doing actual profile - and then route out "real time" thru the DAW back to the Kemper when doing the actual profiling?
Also, I watched an interesting Youtube post saying the using the SPDIF digital connection is the best way to go - to avoid doing analogue (tube amp speaker) to digital (in one's DAW), and back to analogue to route back to the Kemper. Anyone had good (and relatively easy) experience using the SPDIF connections?
thanks, Carlos
Carlos, if you feel the two mic's blended give you the sound you're after, as opposed to just, I'm guessing, the '57, then by all means Profile it that way.
As you've already realised, making sure they're in-phase is critical if it's the pure, minimal-phase sound you're after, and yes, you can experiment with blending in your DAW first and route the signal straight on from there for Profiling if you want to avoid a bunch of repatching. It'll sound pretty much the same either way so it's up to you.
As for S/PDIF, many use it for the sake of convenience and some profess that it's 'cause of the sound, but honestly mate, the quality of the Kemper's D/A conversion means that as long as you have a decent interface, you won't be sacrificing quality if you go the analogue route IMHO.
HTH mate.
Hey, thanks M_M for your input. Will try something today and start simple with one mic and stick to analogue!
hi and welcome..
Welcome.
