Hello all, I am new to Kemper and try to start basic playing along with my computer. I have connected it to the alternate input. Now my guitar sounds great, but the computer sounds very bad. It sounds like it leaves frequencies away and is hardly audible. Any suggestion what can be wrong? Regards, Jan

Explain how you connected it (which cable, which output from your computer)

Hi, jjdejager,
Are you sending a stereo signal to the Alternative Input ( 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve )? If so, you need a different cable - note the second paragraph, below.
QuoteRETURN and ALTERNATIVE INPUT (4)
The ALTERNATIVE INPUT can be used as a rear-side guitar input, which is especially convenient for the Rack, and
PowerRack models. The parameter “Input Source” needs to be set accordingly in the Input Section.
The RETURN is available as balanced TRS or XLR input. While it plays a key role during PROFILINGTM, as
explained in the chapter Taking a PROFILE, it can also be used in combination with the DIRECT OUTPUT/SEND to
loop in external equipment. In combination, RETURN and ALTERNATIVE INPUT can function as a pair of stereo
returns. Details can be found in the Effect Loops chapter.
Both the RETURN and the ALTERNATIVE INPUT can also be used as auxiliary inputs. You could, for instance, use
this feature to mix in music from your mp3-player and play along. In this case you will need a special cable with 3.5
mm stereo jack on one side and two ¼ inch mono jacks on the other side. You will find the corresponding mix
controls in the Output Section.
✓Please note that the XLR input does not provide phantom power.

Are you sending a stereo signal to the Alternative Input
Congratulations You beat me on this one.
Thought the same but wanted to make sure first by asking for the cable, haha.

Hi jjdejager,
The Alternative Input is balanced. If you connect a stereo signal to it, it will sound as you described.

That's why you need to split the left and right outputs and use both the Alternative Input and the Return.
