Easier access to loading Presets in Rig Manager

  • Currently, when you try to load a preset in Rig Manager you have to go back and forth between the "All Rigs" section and "All Presets".

I wish there would be a function that would allow to click a block then presets associated with the block's loaded effect will be selectable.

E.g., if you load a block with kemper distortion and you right click the block, presets associated with kemper distortion will pop up.

PS; if this is somehow achievable in the current edition, please accept my ignorance and guide me how...

  • A few people have requested this in the past but it isn’t yet available.

One of the problems that I see is that if you select an effect and a popup/dropdown type menu appears with only the presets relevant to that effect type should the list be:

A - only the presets physically loaded on the KPA? Some people might not have many presets on the KPA but rather keep them in Rig Manager in which case most of their presets wouldn’t be available.

B - only the presets stored in Rig Manager? Some people might have presets on the KPA that aren’t in RM and therefore wouldn’t be visible using this method. Alternatively, they may have hundreds or even thousands of presets in RM which would make a contextual sub menu unwieldy to operate.

C - both sources? This would ensure all presets are always available all the time but would increase the risk of the list being unmanageable. This option could also result in duplicate presets in the list where a preset is present in both RM and the KPA.

it isn’t difficult to see the attraction of a contextual menu but it is also easy to see many complications which would require to be addressed carefully if it were to be useful to users.

  • Thanks for your insight!

I believe B is the easiest to implement, while the assumption is that the KPA is connected to Rig Manager, an easy sync between the two will make either achievable.

For people who have overwhelming numbers of presets, limiting what pops out on the contextual menu shall help. Currently you can't "Favorite" or "rate" presets, though once adding such ratings, you can limit only to have favorites pop out, while others remain silent.
