No matter if it's fake or real, this is another interesting form factor. Pedals, pedals, pedals. Line 6 looks at the world and decides... man this world needs more pedals!

HX Stomp XL

Looks goofy and fake. I'd buy if real and sell my HX FX.
-
-
Line 6 has been using teaser pictures as a viral marketing tool for new products for decades - even longer than TJ
-
This form factor is killing it..
I hope @CK comes out with a surprise in the next months. No sell out.I mean something clever.."modular"..something which "completes" the empty space in the tool box next to the Rack/Toaster,Remote,Kone.It should be possible.
-
Not really, imho. I like the iridium better:
-
LOL. EytschPi hates Kemper. He says they sound too good.
-
Seriously, why does the thumbnail for every single YouTube video about gear show some guy making a shocked/surprised/"get-a-load-of-this" face? Can we please officially retire this little tidbit of internet culture?
-
Alienator
Changed the title of the thread from “Fake or real? HX Stomp XL” to “HX Stomp XL”. -
While everybody is distracted by that Quad Cortex forum monstrosity, Line6 delivers silently...
-
Price?Does anyone know?
-
-
Perfect.Clever guys these L6 folks..
-
-
At Thomann, they say it is available "within 13-17 weeks" (!!!)
(Quad Cortex is 5-7 weeks of waiting, at the moment)

Who here uses a hx stomp as a backup or secondary device to their kpa?
Be interested to hear your reviews for sound comparison. I know theres many videos and demos out there but feel most convey the (biased) message of the reviewers.

Recieved mine today, actually.
I’ll use it as a mobile thing to and from rehearsals and writing sessions. For live it will be a backup. (Hopefully gigging will be a reality ...)
so far I dig it! -
I got an HX Stomp a few weeks back, mainly because I was impressed at how John Cordy (YouTube guitarist) was utilising it and how it sounded with his presets. I had the full on Helix for a month years back but swapped it for a ‘78 Marshall JMP combo, as I didn’t like it at all. The Stomp represents a matured feature set in the Helix world and is quick, easy and flexible. It sounds good with the right IR and presets, but it’s no Kemper killer.
Incidentally, I just got rid of the Marshall and got a Fractal FM3 today. It’s on another level with regards to the Stomp and sounds, though wouldn’t fit in the pocket of my guitar gig bag. -
Cheers for the comments, guys. I’ve never had good “tone” experiences with previously owned line6 gear (pre helix generation) and don't seek nor expect anything to replace my kpa.
The idea of a rucksack-size flyrig seems attractive. The kpa stage appears a bit large (size and £££ wise) for cabin luggage. Though by the next time i do a fly gig, with the situation of the current world, there might be a pocket kemper
i do like several footswitches to avoid requiring multiple presses and tap-dancing.

The only thing I bought the HX Stomp for is to use its boosts and drives in a loop of one of my Kemper Stage boards and for its simulation if the Korg A3. It's the only (pocket) device that can nail the song "Mysterious Ways". That's it. Line6 amp simulation may be OK but I hate tweaking. Yes, I could use it as a backup as it sits on the board but do far all my Kempers were reliable at gigs.
-
Yeah I’m in the same park as Alienator. I have one as a backup and it sits in my main pedal board. However, never needed it. I do use it with my tube amp just for the delays, reverbs and occasional times I want some other effects.
It comes reasonably close to the KPA tho and tube amps in sound but not in feel. I’d never use it as a main amp sound unless the Kemper broke and / or I needed to travel with just one bag.
