CLEAR differences between Kemper through Interface and Direct..

  • If not mentioned before, an audio interface can be set up so that both the incoming channel inputs AND the master out that you're listening to both contain the guitar, which causes a weaker and phasey sound.

In my set up I use the software mixer that came with the Presonus unit to mute the input track.

Hm wouldn't this mostly apply to situations where you are also monitoring through a DAW?

    Kemper PowerRack |Kemper Stage| Rivera 4x12 V30 cab | Yamaha DXR10 pair | UA Apollo Twin Duo | Adam A7X | Cubase DAW
Fender Telecaster 62 re-issue chambered mahogany | Kramer! (1988 or so...) | Gibson Les Paul R7 | Fender Stratocaster HBS-1 Classic Relic Custom Shop | LTD EC-1000 Evertune | 1988 Desert Yellow JEM

  • I think that preamp is connected to input 1 and 2. Try input 3 an 4 with TS-cable for that.

Well, I think I solved the problem. I didn't have properly configured the inputs on the RME (gain in the preamp and panning in both mono inputs), so you were probably right!. Now the comparison between the headphones with no Space effect and the sound through the interface is the very same, sounds really great (even better? :S:S). I have one more question: shoud affect what I have selected as Direct Out in the Ouput menu to what I send through the Main Output? I mean, I'm only using the Main Output (master stereo), but also had selected differents things for Direct Out and the others and now I turned them off cause I'm not using them, but anyway it shouldn't have affected to what I was hearing, right?.

    Thanks! :)
