Hi, I'm new to Kemper I just rented a Power rack to try it out. Question > with my Boss GT 1000 I am able to hook it up via USB to my PC to play under the headphones without an interface. Works very well and I can use it this way to record with Ableton. I thought with Kemper you would be able to do the same thing direct via USB like the GT 1000 When I go to the sound settings to get Win sound recording to listen to the Kemper it's not listed like the GT 1000 etc. Now is the Kemper not able to hook up this way? The Rig manager is working. Is there a Output setting that switches to USB out to play and record without a interface like the GT 1000?

Nope. Kemper doesn't have a USB soundcard. You can send PC or phone to the aux inputs to listen/play along with headphones.

You can try and use a 1/4'' to 1/8'' cable from Kemper out to your microphone in on your sound card in back of the computer. But without an interface and monitors you may be lacking in quality severely.

I agree with BayouTexan. Running with a proper Audio Interface is THE way to go. Much easier to manage too for recording to your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) on your computer.
