PowerAmp + Kemper Cab or Powered Kemper Cab

  • Hi

    I have an unpowered toaster.

If i want to use the Kemper Cab/Cone is it best to get the powered Cab or will it be just as good getting a separate poweramp and the passive cab?

  • Either would work well.

The advantage of a passive Kabinet and a power amp is that you could use different cabs if you wanted to.

The disadvantage is that there are more pieces to the rig.

    Both will sound the same.

There's a very wide range of power amps to choose from which may cost less or more than the powered Kabinet

  • I'm thinking about getting a Kabinet.

Is there any difference between the powered and the nonpowered version (besides the obvious power amp?).

I already have a external power amp (Palmer Macht 402) and could save some money when getting the unpowered kabinet...

  • Ok. I really don't need a cover, but the tilt is a nice feature.

I already have a power amp, so that's not the issue here (a Palmer Macht 402)

If it's sounding nearly the same, it's just nearly 300€ difference for the tilt and a cover. My local dealer doesn't have the kabinets in store, so I can't compare them in real life, but the sound shouldn't be that much of a difference or does it? In the end it's just a different power amp...
