With all the midi FC's out there, why is it so important for Kemper to release their own? What is it that they would do that would be different from everyone else? Just asking...
Rig display on the Fc (not only name, but maybe the whole chain) led status and color match, looper control, ethernet cable.
I'm waiting to see if it's about 300. If it is more, I'll look to different solutions.

Just saw this image posted by Kemper on Facebook, announcing their existance at NAMM 2014.
Thought there might be an easteregg hidden to give us a hint of what's next.
But to be honest, all I can discover is a set of (amazing) cable drums?[Blocked Image: http://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/1048858_787706157912376_1316560583_o.jpg]
Coming out from the toaster, there's an ethernet cable going all the way down to a KFC on the floor... We can't see it but it's there

The next firmware will let you profile Gretsch guitars.

Wow, good catch! I always thought I can't play a Gretsch guitar with my Profiler because I don't own a Gretsch. But with your hint in mind everything makes sense. -
KFC isn't that much guys, especially if you get a family pack.
What they don't tell you about is the cost to your health ...

I'm using the FCB1010., as far as i can tell its pretty much the best solution at the moment. And its really not great. There is noticeable switching lag between profiles, the expression pedals are just terrible, the switchs themselves are plasticy and don't feel very durable, it requires running 2xmidi cables and a power (KPA FS should work on a single network cable), there is no patch/bank information displayed other than a number.
AFAIK, most of the other options won't even display tuner info.

The Uno4Kemper chip, some basic soldering skills, and maybe $50 of parts can get you an FCB with jacks for using your own pedals that runs from a single cable back to the Kemper. I'm actually surprised that there isn't someone out there selling Kemper-modded FCBs - they'd probably make a fortune. -
FCB with a chip is a good low cost option but is just too big. Others are either hard to get, over priced and a pain to programme (for midiot's like me).

Cristoph!!! Make it happen at NAMM bro!
-
I think if he hasn't started yet, then it's a bit late to have one ready for next Thursday
-
they're just waiting until this thread will be 60 pages of worthless hope, so keep 'em coming...
-
So when does NAMM start?
-
Do you guys honestly think he'll announce at NAMM. I'm losing hope.

Shouldn't you at least wait for NAMM to start before you lose hope? -

As a P&W player too, I really don't care if they announce it or not. I was using a Ground Control Pro and recently switched to a Rocktron Midi Raider....both work without issues. I'll look at the Kemper controller; but from the designs Christoph proposed, I'm not too sure I'll buy one. I prefer to change entire rigs, rather than using multiple stomps on fewer rigs. If I played in cover bands with multiple, pre-planned set-lists, the performance mode might have greater appeal. Since the worship music changes every week, I'd rather have 10-distinct rigs (on each bank) that I can use to fit to the songs as the mood and on-stage musician complement changes (musicians almost weekly).
I'll be at NAMM next week, and will report in as soon as I know....BTW, he could also announce at Musikmesse 2014 in the middle of March if the prototypes, manufacturing/shipping schedule has slipped. So, NAMM will not be the last chance for 2014.
Incidentally, if you want a less expensive version, the Behringer unit is a really inexpensive, and viable alternative.
Anyway, I personally wouldn't stress over something that has no effect on the sound.

One reason I'm looking forward to the Kemper foot controller is that the single network cable connection will free up the MIDI ports. We're planning to automate all effects changes in our band (as we already have a click track running along for occasional synth accompaniments) but still want to have a foot controller connected as a backup. I've bought a small MIDI merger to try and hook up my Kemper to my FCB1010 and the band's laptop simultaneously, but I'm afraid that will introduce an additional risk of failure and latency.

Yes. I agree about the single network cable connection....that IS seductive. But, for me, the total utility is more important. I can easily see where your situation would be improved with the KPA controller.

......and what about the planned Looper included?
