I would love to try this, I always have a purebooster in the X Slot for solo boosts and it always does sound better, I always assumed it was loud = more good.

Yes, but all this does is boost the volume, so as you say you're just enjoying the extra db
You may as well use rig volume for this though, and either morph or just save a 2nd version of the profile to switch to for solos.What I'm talking about here is using it BEFORE the amp to fine tune the input signal level in order to achieve a perfect "feel" from each profile.
