Do the different outputs have different audio quality?

  • Hi, when using it in a live situation I've used the monitor output into a DI/line box straight into the mixing table. It's produced a thin sound with lots of punch disappearing and the guitar sounding very sterile. Is this cause I'm using the monitor output instead of main output or is there FHO just not very high quality and cuts off some frequencies?

  • Hi, in a live situation you should send to FOH your main output and keep the monitor output to monitor on stage (for instance through Kabinets or whatever you use).

Check on global output that you have "Cabinet off" not engaged and tweak with Main output's EQ and global High and Low cuts.

On the other hand, maybe that DI/line box and the mixing table you mention are not good enough.

    Hope it helps.

  • If you are sending the same signal to both outputs the quality should be the same. Levels will differ between balanced and unbalanced but the source should be the same. Sounds like you either have a different signal assigned to each output or they have an issue with their PA. Are you sending a Stereo signal (Master Stereo for example) to to the DI box with only one cable connected? In this case you will lose half the signal which will really affect any modulation and reverb effects and will lose half of the delay repeats on stereo delays.

  • according to the ticket that you opened, you were using a Kemper Kabinet for monitoring. As soon as the Kone function is activated the signal at the monitor and speaker output is optimized for the Kemper Kabinet and will not sound good with any other monitoring device. Please use the Main outputs to connect your Profiler to the FOH mixing board as these are unaffected by the Kone function.

You do not need any DI box either because the XLR outputs of the Profiler deliver a balanced line level signal.

Furthermore it is not recommended to use a microphone in front of the Kabinet as described in our user manual.
