Lower volume profile recommendations

  • Not decent ones. But the idea for this thread was to see what preferences people had for profiles at a lower volume, not whisper quiet just lower than we'd like. Thanks for the suggestion though ST.

My thought was - if we could solve the "detest headphones" issue, then you wouldn't have to limit your choices to profiles that sound great at low volume.

  • the 'Space' parameter in the OUTPUT section, page 6 was just made for this.
I have it set at 3.5

With a decent pair of headphones you can get great tones and great immersion.

Having a 'good' tone at very low levels would require boosts of bass and treble to overcome the equal loudness contour

much better and more reliable to find a good pair of headphones - people that say they hate headphones often simply never had the pleasure of playing through nice ones (Sennheiser for me for over 30 years for example)

  • I often use the Guido pack at low volume. Works great. Especially the 808 Friedman and the Marshall (od2 or something)
