Working on a profile of my Splawn Nitro *Clips*

Started working on a profile of my nitro. Challenging so far because I usually record with multiple mics blending to the left and right for a more filling sound and right now, I'm just using my MD421 and I'm not 100% happy with it. I've found that it typically takes a couple different mics to really capture the sound or rather the BEST sound the amp has so I'm going to head out today and see if I can find a small mixer to run more than 1 mic into and then send that back into the kemper and then re-profile that.

For the time being, this is what I've got so far. One bit of playing is the kemper and another bit is the amp. Not saying which is which yet.

and the profile so far after a little tweaking, adding the green screamer overdrive boost and some effects. Added delay a little bit into the clip and then near the end, turned off the boost, delay/reverb and played dry.

A little more tweaking and more or less dry as well as recording the profile mono then mixing with a little stereo reverb post processing.

Depending on how the mixer works out and how I like or dislike the results from profiling that, I may just upload what I've got now or scrap it if the multiple mic profile is as good as I think it could be.

Just got back from guitar center. I picked up an Alesis Multimix 8 for $99 out the door. It was their last one/floor model so the discount was substantial.

I got that and a Y splitter dual male mono 1/4" to a single male mono 1/4" jack so I can send the outputs of the alesis into the 1/4" return input on the back of the kemper

When I get off work, I'll get to cracking on seeing how it turns out.

One other question though

Yesterday when profiling the amp, the kemper kicked back a message after it was done saying it had detected a noise gate but I don't have anything attached to the loop of my amp and nothing in front of the amp either.

What causes this?

played around with the mixer last night. SOOOOO much better!!

I didn't get any time to really mess with it too much, just did a quick profile after tweaking the mics and listen back and fourth between the refined profile and the amp and there is zero difference.

Hopefully I'll have the profile really tweaked up nice and uploaded this weekend.

I'm about done with this one. Messing around with the effects and stuff at this point. Changed the reverb around a little for this, lowered the amp gain and then boosted the gain output with the green screamer boost setting. Then it gets quiet, gain boost goes off and then when it gets back loud, I raise the amp gain setting up (boost is still off)

I'll probably work on a few more profiles this weekend. I'm going to hook up my variac and drop the voltage down to around 80 or 90 volts and crank the resonance control on the amp. Delivers a killer brown sound.

I've also got 4 scumback speakers that just showed up that I want to also try out.

Generous reverb on the clip. A lot more than I usually use.
