Noob question about EQ and relation to cuts

When you set the high cut in the Output to 7.5k, it likely does not remove all frequencies above 7.5k by an infinite amount. So, If you raise or lower high frequencies before the filter, you will hear a difference.

If I recall correctly the Hi Cut was a 1st order roll of (6db per octave ) but was updated fairly recently to 2nd order. Therefore, it doesn’t chop high frequencies off abruptly but rolls them off gradually at a rate of 12db per octave.
