Alternative input higher signal noise than front input

I'm using the alternative input on the back of the Kemper Rack in conjunction with my wireless unit. An engineer on a gig recently pointed out to me that the signal noise on my guitar was much higher than usual. I've had a further look into it and it appears the signal noise when using the alternative input is much higher than when using the standard front input. I've also switched off the wireless unit completely and get the exact same result going direct in with a cable.

Is this normal or is there a fault with my alternative input? Has anyone else experienced this?

If I recall correctly (and it's been years since I looked), the manual indeed states that the alternative input has a higher noise floor. But check the manual to see of I'm right or wrong

Yes it is. See Main Manual 8.5 page 127.

Try to squeeze a cable from your wireless unit through a little gap to the front input (with an angled jack) and you should be fine.
