there is no such thing as patches in the Profiler. Naming a rig is part of the Store process.
Press the Store button to enter the Store menu where you can give each rig a unique name.
Alternatively, you can name rigs in the Rig Manager app.

Correct I meant naming a rig. Been playing 47 years. The Kemper is a new curve for me...but worth it

If you need suggestions on a format, anything like Year_Make_Model_otherInfo.kipr, etc, works for everyone.

You could look at the big profilers like Michael Britt and follow their lead.
Usually first 2-3 characters are your initials or designation. For Britt its MB.
Followed by the amp name (69 Plexi).
Followed by the channel used: (Jumpered).
Then some thing that indicates the gain or pedals if used (Timmy OD).
EXAMPLE: MB 69 Plexi J Tim
But anything works. There are no rules. You have a limited number of chars you can see on the Kemper screen so it is usually truncated like the example.

My basic naming convention is LP_(Amp)(Cabinet/Speaker)_(###), like LP_EVHSuperV_009.
I also add a plus sign (+) if it's profiled with the BBE Sonic Maximizer.

My advice is to just give them a very short initial name when storing on the KPA. Them re name and complete all the tags in Rig Manager later using a computer keyboard.
Alternatively, you can plug a USB keyboard in the KPA and type the names easily. The rotary encoder method was clearly a necessity at the time the KPA was designed but it is a pain in the bahookie compared to other options.
