I would be so convenient to assign the control pedal to wah/volume/... specifically in a RIG (keeping the System setting as default).

The consequence would be, that if you load a Rig from User Rig Exchange, a KEMPER Rig Pack or a commerical offering, it might overwrite your pedal configurations potentially in a way not compatible with your physical setup.

I think that would be okay, to be honest. Easy enough to change it. The benefit of it being rig-specific outweighs that drawback to my mind.

Have you tried Pedal Links in System Settings?
With the existing pedal links logic, I use a single pedal for Wah, Pitch, and Morph. I use rig-specific settings to use Morph to control things like Delay mix and feedback, Tremolo depth, Volume, etc.
