I'm looking for a Bathory sound- a-like rig from the area around Hammerheart or Twilight of the gods. I mean the distortion guitar. Maybe anyone has a suggestion or was looking for that before.🤘🏼🤘🏼

Didn't the Swedish bands love the Boss Metal Zone? You are not going to find much on Quorthon's tone because he supposedly had stage fright, or maybe because the tones were heavily processes in the studio and not suitable for live? Good luck on that search.

yeah i think youre right. he mostly did almost everything in the studio... but i was hoping theres any way a to setup a rig to reach a similar sound. didnt figure it out by myself yet.

I didn't find anything unique about his tone, so you should be able to come up with something similar. I'd look into the Swedish bands of the 90's and find out what common amps and stomps they used. Chances are Quorthon just copied others at that time.
