Plasterboard guitar wallhangers UK

a wooden support with lots of support points , I would use heavy duty & specialized fishers

or use a metal detector and finds rails for hanging your wooden support.

The wooden support would hold wall mounts.

Screw a board to the studs and mount the hangers to the board

wood attached to the stud on the metal rails with specific screws

or molly expandable ones on the dry well itself

I never hang my guitars. If I did, I would feel like I am buying it again. I use floor racks.

if you hesitate and have access to quality wood for cheap ( bought in a wood mill for instance ) , just build a frame standing from the ground to the ceiling

I'm greedy, some hang and others sit in floor racks. Might be imagining it, but the hung ones seem to stay in tune better.

For the wall plate if you go that way, you can buy a cheap battery stud finder so you don't make unnecessary holes in your walls. Some of them have cable /pipe finders as well, useful bit of kit to keep in your workshop

I think you are overworrying.

If you use decent plasterboard expansion screws (the ones that open up behind the plaster board), you should be ok because the mounts are fairly close to the wall and therefore don't exert that much leverage.

They can take a reasonable amount of weight, but to be doubly sure, find the plasterboard frames and screw a baton to those (as suggested).

I've use these to hold large 4 foot paintings in my den. They weigh 5lbs each. 2 anchors spaced 16".

I've use these to hold fixtures from ceilings that weigh close to guitar weight. 3/16'' size. 2 toggles spaced as long as 5 feet.

i've used these (UK screwfix) they claim to hold substantial weight and so far so good.

Used to secure a hercules wall-hanger. Probably an overkill for the application but i like something i can trust.

Downside is that if you ever want your wall back it leaves a 2 pence sized holed to fill.

sorry- i dont recall. I probably used the screws that came with the fixing for optimal contact.

btw, thinking about it, its probably more like a penny/5 pence sized hole .
