Short Review of the KPA - Compared with the AxeFX II

I didn't have an Axe ... think I don't need one ... I'm sure.

Me too..

Bought an axefx2
Bought a Kemper
Sold axefx2
Got intrigued by tone matching so bought another axefx2 (FW6)
Sold axefx 2
Got bit by recession so reluctantly sold Kemper.
Several weeks later bought a new Kemper when finances got sorted.
Very happy Kemperer.

That's always been my take on it. Every time I'd see someone gushing about it on a forum I'd have a listen and think... "Ok... and for how much? " It just never seemed to have that special something that would warrant spending whatever they were asking for it.

When I heard the Kemper KPA for the first time I had quite a different response. "Woah! What does it cost? I'd better find a way to get that money together. "

To me all reviews no matter who does it (guitar mag, youtube etc) have little value, when comparing products anyone can make one product sound better if he/she really wishes, most magazine reviews are useless, as the seem to worry more about the advertisers $$, what counts to me is buying the product and testing it myself in the way I intend to use it, that's why when my friends or anyone asks for an opinion between these 2 units i always suggest to them to try both side by side, and judge for themselves, I have both the AXE II and KPA loaded with around 2000 profiles, and both have their uses, I choose to use the Axe II live for all gigs, for many reasons, but anyone who can't get decent sounds out of these 2 units to gig or record, maybe should get a different job
