Demystifying Frequency Response

  • I’ve been following this channel for quite a while. Called Audio University, the channel is very aptly named.

He explains audio concepts in a way that is easily digested and can be easily applied. I think his most recent video on frequency response will answer a lot of the questions players have. Buzzwords like FRFR (Full Range, Flat Response) get thrown around. We talk a lot about how the same amp can sound *so* different depending on the mics, gear and room used.

This goes a long way to de-mystifying what all this stuff means and why they have such a profound affect on results.

  • Soundid is a no-brainer. Can't fix phase issues, but the frequency response gets so much better. Highly recommended.

  • Probably not. Apart from the room analysis that it does for you.
