I teach both Guitar and Composition/Music Production and I always try to give my students music that is relevant to the subject I'm going through in each call.
I wrote this for the first class on writing melodies as I wanted a tune that exemplifies that you can write really simple melodies that are quite effective.
Then I used a version of this tune (without the modulated sections) with my guitar students who needed to break out of the pentatonics as this is just all playing over a C-major scale.
