looking for some grip tape for my slippy jazzbass

Hi !

I'm looking for a solution to get some grip tape or something similar , suede or cloth to put on the bottom of my very shiny and slippy jazzbass, it's constantly slipping from my legs when I'm sit.

I don't want to damage the varnish , so you guys maybe have a solution ? I don't want to use a strap , as I'm a grab and play bass player ( 5 min sessions in my studio )

Rubber pants? 😉

It's going to be tricky to know if the finish will be damaged over a long time if you stick something on there. I like your idea of suede. Felt might also be good.

I struggle to play bass the way I do without a pretty high strap.

A strip of cloth hockey tape would probably work and be easy and discrete.

You could lay a piece of suede, microfiber, a washcloth, pot holder, etc. on your leg, and sit the bass on it. No adhesives needed, no long term exposure to the bass finish.

Thx guyd, micro fiber did not solve my issue but I taped the bottom of my JB with some porous tape, the one for human skin and it worked great

I would pull out some sandpaper and a chisel to make it work.
