TC Mimic and dual input

  • I play a lot solo to accompany a singer. My main guitar is a Godin Multiac HG Steel with dual output: one for acoustic and the other for magnetic pickup.

I have a good sound by using parallel path:

    • Slot AB for alternate input (effect loop) with acoustic signal
    • The rest for magnetic pickup with stack and effects.

As I'm the only instrument I was wondering if using TC Electronic Mimiq doubler before the kemper inputs could add something like thickness to the sound, a bigger sound?

    I though to plug

    • Guitar piezo to mimiq L input
    • Guitar magnetic to mimiq R input
    • Mimiq L ouput to alternate kemper input
    • Mimiq R output to kemper main input

Kemper output is set to mono because of live use.

  • Instead of mimiq, do you think it would be possible to "widen" the sound with some kind of delay between the to signals?

By adding a delay in slot B (with parallel path) or with a pedal with a very short delay in one the two inputs?

  • I have used the Mimiq Doubler (stereo version) on the main outs and then put a stereo delay after that (if you use one) so the delay is not doubled. I've only done this in a studio setting where I have more control of the signal chain.
