Use 80’s Roland JC-120 Main In jacks for Kemper stereo monitoring?

  • I have an 80’s Roland JC-120 that has 2 “Main In” jacks on the back. I’ve read that they bypass the amp’s preamps and that 2 preamped signals can be connected to them to use the amp’s 2 power amps/speakers.

I would like to try it, with the Kemper set to Monitor Stereo, but am not sure what level of signal comes out of the Kemper’s Monitor and Direct Output ports.

Would those outputs be safe/good for this application? What level of signal comes out of them? Can anyone advise? Thanks!

  • all of the Profiler outputs deliver a line-level signal. You need to find out if the inputs on your JC-120 can deal with line-level signals. Also, make sure to checkmark the "monitor cab off" option to use the JC speakers for monitoring.
