RM can't find Profiler (v9 Beta)

Windows does just fine IF the driver is available. I haven't had to manually install a driver for years. My MacBook Pro didn't recognize my profiler (Stage).

Rather than hear which computers can't recognize the profiler, maybe I should be asking which profilers can be recognized. I far as I know (I bought it used), my Stage was built in late 2021.

No, I don't. Again, my issue only affected one particular PROFILER unit. All other units worked with the same OS, Rig Manager, PC and cable. Perhaps a hickup in Windows related to how it manages USB devices.

My Profiler Power Head works perfectly with my Mac Mini on OS 13 and my iPad Pro.

How old is your Power Head? Unfortunately it looks like my MacBook is maxed out at OS 10.15

I did a factory reset on the Stage and that didn't help either. Good news is that I'm getting to know my way around as far as backing up and restoring on the Profiler itself.

Good News !

After installing a "special test version" of the OS 9 Beta for testing as per Kemper support, Rig Manager 3.4.29 recognizes the Profiler on my Windows 10 computer. I haven't checked it out on my MacBook Pro (Catalina 10.15) yet but will soon.

It's possible to install more current Mac OS versions on older hardware. See: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher

Thanks, I stopped using the MacBook about 5 years ago and hadn't messed with it till this issue arose. After transferring enough of my files over to my NAS drive I was able to update the MacBook to Big Sur 11.7.7 . As it turns out the Mac OS was not problem, it was the 9.0.2 beta.

Hi all,

I've installed the Rig Manager 3.4 on my work laptop, and capable to update my stage at OS 9

however, when I use it with my "music laptop" (who has a Rig manager 3.5.55) the profile isn't recognised.

This is quite an issue because it forces us to upgrade our Mac (which we all know they are not cheap) to keep the kemper up to date. (I can't use the work laptop to manage my personal stuff all the time)

Is there any update in the roadmap to release a Rig Manager that works on OS 10.13.6 and recognises the Kemper with OS 9?

I had the same issue with a 2011 Mac.

Two routes to consider:

1. You can update a lot of Macs beyond what Apple supports:

dosdude1's Personal Web Server - Software

or GitHub - dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher: Experience macOS just like before

I updated a 2011 Mac with no issues. Runs fine.

2. Buy a used Mac. I got a 2015 Mac Air for $150. Facebook Marketplace was great for this.

I'll second the recommendation for OpenCore Legacy. It's getting simpler to use and more reliable all the time. No need to buy new hardware.
