What about a stand-by switch/soft-button? When changing guitars it would be nice to just hit a stand-by switch...or am I missing something?

Use the tuner position of the chickenhead.
-
...........or assign the tuner to a switch on the pedalboard if you have one and you don't need to even turn to unplug the guitar............

Or solder a Neutrik silent plug to the guitar end of the cable.
Works like a charm.
You do not need to switch anything - just unplug and plug in next guitar silently.Mike

Sweden-1, IMO.
The one I tried/used started making all kinds of crackling etc. noises after short period of normal use at home. Can't recommend. -
I have one on the sender of the G50 since 2 years, daily use and no issue. Just put some contact spray on the sleeve from time to time...
