Been experimenting a lot lately, and I think I might like this better! Basically all I do is place an EQ pedal up front, and boost/cut to taste ( if at all) crank up the mix to 100 percent, and volume to taste ( I usually have it around +1.5 to +2.0 or so). I feel you have much more control over your sound this way, and is not nearly as compressed sounding as some of the other onboard boosts... Anyone else do the same?
Who likes boosting with the graphic EQ pedal vs the traditional boosts?

I use both: Lead boost pre and G Eq post. Lead boost to change the gain and G Eq to raise the volume and mids for the solo

I guess I should've been more specific. I mean boosting like you would use a tubescreamer etc vs using the graphic as the same type of effect. I also like using the graphic as well for solo boosts post amp

I tend to use the Cab volume assignment for adjustments like that.

On the Kemper I prefer to use the Graphic EQ Peda with an inverted smiley curve ^ centered around 1K since I still got my issues with the inbuilt TS. Works very nicely....

i also like the GEQ better than the 'green screamer' when i'm not using my OD808

For boosting i use the parametric mid bands of the studio EQ. Very cool imo cause you can precisely control the frequency range for the boost.

I've been liking the pure boost post amp. I'm trying to decide if that is better than the graphic (flat) kicked up a few dbs. Great to have both options!

With the KPA CC's are assigned to slots, not to FX.
The correct CC assignment depends in which slot you put the EQ.
