i can't control wah with the Roland EV-5 plugged in pedal 1. it seems as if it's doing nothing at all.
The manual says Pedal #1 defaults to the control of Wah-type effect, do i need to do any setup for it to work or i need only plug it in Pedal #1 and it should work?
is anybody using the EV-5 and had any luck setting it up correctly or am i missing something?

Need a TRS cable, not TS.
-
Don't know how it's wired inside but the EV-5 jack looks TRS to me!
-
On the system menu set pedal 1 to exp pedal (type 1 or 2, need to try it) on the wha menu set it to pedal off@heel (default is touch).
-
Still doesn't work
Will try another pedal tomorrow, maybe my pedal is faulty! -
Are you using a stereo cable? A normal one doesn't work

The EV-5 comes with a stereo cable, and trs jack hardwired to the pedal.
Maybe try turning the "minimum volume dial", on the side of the pedal.[Blocked Image: http://www.mygearguy.com/product_images/1338306675.jpg]

I am using the same pedal. No problems. But one hint I want to give. The cable will break after a short while right there where it goes into the pedal. This is a common problem with this pedal. Even if you fix it, it will break again. I solved this problem by attaching a plug to the pedal instead of a fixed cable. This way I have the cable separate and can use any good quality stereo cable (angled instead of straight plug).
You shoud try if there is something wrong with your cable already. -

I also use the EV-5. In some very early OS Versions there were some bugs when using the pedal as a wah. But since at least the last half year, it works perfectly...
