So, my question is what's the difference between a "profile" and a "rig?"

A profile is the result of the profiling process applied to an amp at certain settings. A Rig is a combination of a profile (in the Stack section), tweaked to taste, together with the modeled stomps and the onboard fx (what you would call a preset in another unit)

A PROFILE is basically the digital snapshot of either an amplifer or a cabinet or a combination of both if you will.
The RIG is the combination of profile(s) with all the other effects and settings like stomp boxes, EQ, Gain, Reverb, Delay etc.Hope that explains it to you?

Hmmm...so, if I load a profile that sounds great to me without any additional EQ, stomp boxes or anything else is it a profile and a rig at the same time?
