Reliability, ease of use, UI software, design functionality, control layout, LED metering, sound quality, rackmount. It covers everything I would want in a high end interface. It even looks like it's worth $1000. Just the number of complaints on the Focusrite UI software is enough for me to drop it from the list. The Sound Devices Interface looks like someone's bench project thrown together without any thought on ease of use or UI.

And I have the Motu M4 which sounds perfect and is so damn simple to use I forget it's even hooked up. Set it and forget it.

MOTO has so many choices of interfaces for around $1000 it's confusing.

I filtered the search to " price High to Low

Wow, ok. An audio interface that is 10+ years old, doesn't have a zero latency DSP mixer software, didn't even come with an ASIO driver until a 3rd party company took care of this and the last firmware update has seen the light of day over 10 years ago. :D

They must have been happy to sell this, finally. Who knows how long this has been laying in their shelf. :D

I'm not sure I would ever talk again with these "good folks at Sweetwater", haha.

My suggestion would have been to save just a little more and get an RME UCX II which has the best drivers (and software) by far, a lot more I/O, awesome converters and 2 really good mic preamps. This kind of audio interface blows your (current) choice away in every single regard.

Wait, what???? 10 years old? The sales rep sent me this link which tried to narrow down the choices of interfaces with SPDIF. The $1000 range is what I was spending time on, they said this Sound Devices USBPre 2 was a better choice than the focusrite and MOTO in it's class.

Here are the interfaces with SPDIF:

    Hi Yoda...
The good folks at Sweetwater after much debate steered me towards the Sound Devices USBPre 2 USB Audio Interface https://www.sweetwater.com/sto…2--sound-devices-usbpre-2

We compared it with all the Focusrite and MOTU gear at this price point and they said this has the best convertors in the class.
I need SPDIF which narrows the choices dramatically out there.
That said, I ordered and will try it and hope for the best until I an afford a Neve.
    thanks :)

ok things are moving quick and I must make decision very soon, could use some expert advice.

I have pulled the trigger on a newer Windows i9 intel desktop that should last me the next 10 years (or whatever) but with this I am going to go with the latest PT software/perpetual license and with that I need to pick an audio interface and there are a lot of choices.

Having the DIGI 002 for so long I have been accustomed to having MIDI I/O and all that it offers on the back regarding Inputs and Outputs, some of these newer interfaces lack MIDI I/O, even in the $1000 range, maybe I'm missing something and MIDI is on USB??? IDK??? lol

[Blocked Image: https://duc.avid.com/images/smilies/smile.gif] The Sweetwater guy that is helping me gave me a few good options but the main thing I need is SPDIF IN/OUT for my Kemper (direct recording and reamping).

For around the $1000 level are any of these good choices????

The real amps. Santana played Mesa Boogie from the early days of the hot-rodded Fender Princetons back in the mid 70s. He seems to have diversified a little in more recent times.

Funny thing: In the most well known film of him playing live - Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock, he is actually playing this 500 watt Kustom solid state beast. He chose it just for the volume he thought he would need for the live outdoor gig with the huge audience.

Michael Shrieve is the greatest drummer on planet earth during those few moments when playing Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock. love that

    Hi Halipino,
Thanks for asking, but the answer is that I priced my pack to be inexpensive all year around so people didn't have to wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday to get them.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

lol right on Mats_Nermark, never hurts to ask,.:)
I went as far as the shopping cart but saw the code thing and decided to inquisite.
Hey THE PRICE IS RIGHT... lol bro I will gladly purchase and support your efforts and I hope these tones land on my solo LP I'm working on, can't wait to crank through these sounds! I used to be nothing but a Marshall guy but now I am learning the sacred ways of the Dumble magic! :)

    Addendum:

"D-style SSS Rig Pack" is now purchased! AWESOME!!!!

    Thank you

Well, if you're into the D*mble type of sounds, I have two other packs that you may like. The ODS-style pack (profiles of a Bludo-Drive like the one Larry Carlton has) and the SSS-style pack (profiles of a Bludo clone of a Steel String Singer which is my absolute favourite). CHeck out the audio demos on my web site.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

Hi Mats, do you have any cyber monday type of code for check out/cart by any chance? The D-style SSS Rig Pack sounds great

Hey, just a quick follow-up. I brought a few of the tracks I recorded at home using the Kemper (spdif into my digi002/PT 10) to a real studio so I could do vocals...

Anyways I was so amazed to hear how good 2 guitar tracks I did using mbritt dumble tones were; crushing, clean power, sounded freaking great over the big speakers... Yay ??

Eggsalad (say it slowly as though inebriated)

What kind of guitar are you playing with this rig?

My Santana MD positively weeps, moans, and howls delicious feedback through this rig (Gundy Robben Stumble).

    Eggsalad = excellent? lol

Tried it through a dual humbucker (Duncan Invader) Reverse Firebird clone. Loved the tone

oh man, this rabbit hole is deep...
Having just got the tonejunkie everything deal and the mbritt d-pak I am inundated but I will hunt down this Gundy Keller |rig as well.. definitely on the hunt for "the" sound.

Tonejunkie put his everything pak on cyber monday sale for $99 and this seems to have a wide range of different Dumble clones as well as "everything". How could anyone decide they would need another sound after a huge purchase like this idk? lol

I can also confirm that these are amazing profiles. They are the ones in my main rotation. I have had them for a while now and so far my favorite profile purchase.

I did buy this one thanks to all your guys wisdom and insight, there are a lot of them pout there to choose from but as far as buying one this is the 1st one I tried and did a reamp and a few new guitar tracks on a song with the mbritt pak and the FUCHS and CTone OD sounded so good I was stunned. I had to fudge around a little with some minor eq to suit my taste but YES, super great!
