Excellent riff! That could be a new hit.

Thanks Per! It's really me "trying to find the perfect tone" for guitar, and then figuring out do I want type A or type B for the embellishment choices, and finally, making a good bridge is what's taking the most time. If I cut back on the "tone chase" then I think one per week is easy to manage. Right after I posted this, I already came up with a hook and chorus for the next one. I just need an interesting bridge for it then ready to record.

In before the week! I've could have easily spent another few days tweaking and EQing. But time to move on to the next one.
The intro was tricky trying to come up with something to go with the main riffage. I tried to loose some dependency on delays for the rhythm parts and keep guitar as dry as possible. I got the bass a little tighter and with some more low end compared to the last mix. My solo has a sound like a bagpipe on high notes that I'd need to clear up for next time.
I used my new Friedman BE-OD pedal in front of the Kemper going into a clean Fender Concert profile for guitars and the Eventide MicroPitch.

Don't overlook headphones for mixing and monitoring solutions.

Check out the new Powerstage. 100watts per channel in stereo. Still a little pricey compared to the 700watts. Some might like this option.

Totally Awesome Mats!
I've tried gain morphing because I was always afraid to touch my guitar volume knob. The last several months I have been focused with just that using the volume knob and pick attack to adjust for gain, and I like how those subtle differences can make big changes. With the morph, it was hard to move the exp pedal to any mid levels and be accurate. I would just set two desired positions -- low gain at heel and max gain at toe and forget about anything in the middle.

I agree about vocals. I think you only need some light polishing to make it radio ready. I remember when you first started putting vocals to tunes that your voice was hiding behind the front. Now that you've come more forward, I want to hear more volume because your voice is becoming it's own instrument.

Rush has to be one of the influences even if under a subconscious level. I'm hearing Alex Lifeson on guitar. What did I win?

What if every Kemper update featured a batch of new overdrives? Now there’s a thought…
With all the OD stomps out there we could be in for long download times. If you are just looking to cover songs then the Kemper stomps are pretty adequate, but just not for my personal tone (which I don't know what it sounds like until I do know).

We are many with that request.
Let's call it "Liquid Tuning" for RM. That may get more attention.

You might check out Live Ready Sound profiles. They seem pretty bright to me but I have not used them live so cant speak to that.
Thanks but I see no reason to buy profiles. They probably create the profile outside the mix too and I would still need to adjust them. There are thousands of free ones to choose from and I can make my own. The thing is, I'm not looking for another artist's tone. I'm looking for my own which is obviously making me do the extra work.

Can the Kemper not go into a tube's amp effect loop? I would never try such a thing since the Kemper omits any need for an amp at all, but it seems that the profiler is just one big pedal as long as nothing comes out of the poweramp version, and using the input and main outs to hook to the send and return.

I am hoping for a tuner right inside RM.

One of the best soft vocals I ever heard was Queensryche -Silent Lucidity especially under headphones. No easy task by far.

Thanks Franjoe30 ! My wife is my biggest critique so anything that passes her must be decent enough. LOL. I went and rendered a second version with the bass louder to test and it was much better than this one. That bass is still tricky for me.
Another tune coming up for this week!

Only the Irish can get so angry.

Ok, I see ....some people say that on 9 volt sounds better...Have fun. My pedal is on the way.😉
Congrats! You will love it. I tried it out on 9v and found you get more bite on the attack but you probably need to use the tight switch since the lows can get flubby in a mix. I'm certain to go back and forth on the voltages now, so I might get one of those multi-volt power supplies for it. Something like this...

I thought this guy deserved a shoutout. I'd checked out his other vids. Pretty cool.

Flares raises an important question; Should the single track guitar be on the left channel since it's closet to the driver (American driving side)? I wondered if the Van Halen albums were mix that way because of automobile driver position, and also having sound effects swoosh from left to right because we read that way? Hmmmm.....
