Hello guys this is the 2nd song of my new album Death Construction. For the album I used JMT 2 profiles but I had to tweak them very very much to get a decent result. The profiles are not even close to JMT's promo videos.

if the DI signal that is being sent back to the Profiler has a lower level than the original guitar signal the resulting sound will have less gain.
The correct parameter to compensate for that is the reamp sens parameter.
Make sure that your DAW or audio interface is not attenuating the signal on its way back into the Profiler.
My guitar's input gain makes the kemper go to yellow at times. Having the AI pream at a point where my input signal slightly going to yellow make the reamping sound similar. So I guess this was the trick. Thank you man

Hello there,
i've having some issues with reamping. My gear is
Audient ID 22
spdif from ID22-->Kemper spdif
Kemper xlr main output--> ID22 input 1
Kemper direct output jack unbalanced --> ID22 input 2
I record both DI and wet signal to 2 different track with the following settings
Monitor output at Master mono
Direct output at Gt studio
Clean sense at 0Distortion sense at 0
If i increase clen sense the input led goes red...so I leave it at 0 and it goes only yellow sometimes
Then when I reampa I get the following result compared with the wet signal
1. Wet signal (not reamped)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xe8d…0xlr%20input%201.mp3?dl=0
which is pretty good I like it but then...
2. Reamped with Dist sense at 0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kx3c…ck%20unblalanced.mp3?dl=0
which is very weak it sucks
3. Reamped with Dist sense at 7
https://www.dropbox.com/s/syc5…ck%20unblalanced.mp3?dl=0
mediocre result
4. Reamped with Dist sense at 10
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9m1c…ack%20unbalanced.mp3?dl=0
which is pretty close but I would say less alive.
Am I doing sth wrong? Why do I have to crank up the dist sense to get a decent result?
Thank you for your answers -

How to Reamp Kemper with Reaper (non-SPDIF Method) Tutorial..
That is my favorite thread
. Read to last post. It might give OP some help.
Well I dont use reaper. I managed to reamp using cubase but the quality is much worse comparing it to when I record. I wonder if spdif has better quality.

Guys I just bought a lindy converter as well and I just saw that I can only use my 1 device for one purpose not both. Will the DI be of better quality if I use the converter to send to my ID22? Or by using the xlr cable is the same?

I need an email addy to send to on this platform, there is no "post so everyone can hear" option, so to speak, unless Im missing something..
We have a private conversation. Check it

I don't hqve a drop box account, I only have MP3's.. Can I load those up here? I use a $150 Presonis into a 2010 MacBook .using a a super old version of Digital Peformer. All of my MP3 files are too big for this site..
Here is a sample from Ciliabs 5153 Stealth I use. I literally do no eq to these..
Upload a sample here so we can listen please

I don't even eq the profile I end up recording with..Literally that good. I also profiled my MK4 thru a recto OS cab...it's the main tone I use for live and recording (..along with 5153 50W El34 profile for recording..mixed, they sound amazing..) I also bought the JTM Heavy Tones 2...Holy crap, spot on crushing goodness dripping with tone. If your Kemper does not sound like that, there is somethong wrong. On another note, my buddy has the Stage, and some of his factory preset profiles (5153 to be specific) is rediculous..I wanted to profule his Stage. You can hear proof of this on Tone Wars "opening Kemper Stage and plugging in first time" video. That tone right out of the box is amazing.
Post a sample of the tones you're talking about please. What audio interface do you use?
-
I've had my Kemper for a while and can't seem to get anywhere close.. If you could link audio as well that would be much appreciated, thnx
I've been struggling to get tone related to Josh Middleton's videos for the last 4 months. Actually the tone you posted sucks in compariston to Josh Middletons kemper tones. Check the discussion and the videos here
JTM Profiles - Heavy Tones Bundle 2 - Josh Middleton
His metal guitar tones are magnificent, they are the best tones I've every heard not only from kemper users but from big metal bands and famous producers. But...profiles are not enough. I have an esp eclipse 1 with emg 81-85 tuned at D standard (as his guitars only with other pickups). When I compare his profiles alone , as he demonstrates them in one of his videos, with my guitar they are very close. When I record them they are far from similar. So, one thing is that when I record the sound changes...
Anyway, I dont know what's going on with the kemper community. Isn't there someone who could give us some tips?
HEY ARE THERE METAL GUYS USING THE KEMPER? IS ANYBODY ABLE TO GIVE SOME TIPS?
I bought JM kemper high gain pack 2 and still I cant get close enough to his tones. I think it is the mixing knowledge that makes the difference . I am about to take one of his videos eg the Peavey 5150, record his guitar parts with his profiles and re-make his song with the bass and drums. My goal would be to get as close as I can to his tone...
Using 2 tracks of peavey 5150 and 2 tracks of dual rectifier with tons of eq in the daw this is the best I could get so far.

I have become literally obsessed with this matter. I sleep thinking of what to do in order to get closer to his tones. I wake up I try, I test to the monitors, the studio headphones, the earbuds, the car I come back re-shaping, I listen to his videos and again and again the same cycle.
I bought the kemper to be easier to reproduce tones that I hear from videos but it's still the same. The profiles I buy dont sound as good as in their mixes. Seriously, are there any metalhead in here who could give us some serious tip on that? -
compare the Rig settings in RM and the Profiler. Do they match each other?
compare the output section values. Do they match each other? Now I see that in the output section there is a pure cabinet section as well and yes they match.
But is it normal when I record to have a different sound that what I hear from the monitors? -
you can set Pure Cab for each profile or globally
When in the rig manager is at 0 and in the kemper at 3.1 which one is the active one?

Hello guys,
I have an Audient 22 to which I connect the kemper through xlr cable from the left main output. In the output section the main output is at Master Mono. Main volume is -6db. When I record my sound is more fizzy and whith less body than what I hear from my monitors. Should the sound be identical?
Another strange thing is that I connect the kemper to the pc with a usb cable and I have the Rig Manager open. In the setting of the profiles the pure cabinet is at 0 but in the kemper when I go to page 6/8 of output section the Pure Cabinet is at 3.1. How is this possible? What is the true value?
Thanks for you help guys. -
Are you asking me?

So if I record it as it is (very low volume) and then send it to return input for reamping it wont need any boosting and it will be like I'm playing my guitar through the front input?
-
Guys I try to record a DI and a profile at the same time. I have everything connected. From the output I have unchecked / unlinked all the "volumes". My direct volume is lit out and when I trun the knob the volume isnt affected. From rig manager the Direct out is set to Guit Analog. It lights on only when I change it to Stack or Mod or Master...But I want a clean DI wihtout any effects to be recorded. How can I add more volume to Direct out when is set to guit analog?
-
Ok I found out that I should import all the profiles to "My profiler" in rig manager in order to be able to see the cabs. If I have them in Local Library the cabs are not available for selection from the kemper.
