So the great news is that I only have cover the shipping to Germany as this is a known fault from a small batch of 2012 produced Kempers. Thanks paults
Shipping - any advice on shipping in Europe (in my case from UK to Germany) as the value of the Kemper certainly pushes the price up.
Thanks,
Andy
hmm i have similar, dead LED from years ago and it was from when the kemper was first released. Nice to know they are willing to fix it

i put the high low pass filters on the outputs, saves you a slot. there is one mode switch setting on the clr that has less bass and i always preferred that regardless

I have the kemper kabinet in the middle paired with 2 studio monitors on the side of that. Sounds glorious
oh ive never thought of trying that

First of all thank you for the warm welcome and helpful response.
Seems like the Kone/Kabinet is more popular than I expected from reading online.
I would need an active version of the Kone though, since I have the Kemper Stage, right?
Do I build this myself or just run a poweramp into the kabinet?
Again I'm really out of my league hereGracias!
if you wanted the kone route you could buy the Kabinet, plus a poweramp like Bam200, seymour duncan 170 etc. if you have a spare guitar cab you could even buy the kone speaker alone and put it in a cab with your poweramp of choice connected.

dont forget the Kemper kone. i use it for home use and find it more satisfying than 2 monitors

to be able to do the test right it is important that the input signal of the guitar or the reamped DI is quite high. The input led of the KPA should be turning yellow . It is unlikely that you get this with a regular strat if it has not very hot pickups or if you don't play extremely loud. It is during that time, when the input led is yellow, that the problem arises with lightbox setup.
When the input led is always green, on my experience everything works as it should.
I will do my own tests again this afternoon again and report back.
I have exactly the same results. It is happens only when reamping with very hot signal. Cannot replicate this with live guitar.
i see thanks for the clarification. i was thinking how nice it sounds testing it out

Download the rig. I'm not set up for recording, but direct into the kemper kone with a strat and the drive appears to work as it should. Unless ive missed something
-
have you tried switching the backline switches? i remember when i had mine there was one setting i preferred as the other 2 had too much bass and punch for me,
i wouldnt say they lacked fidelity, if you mean clarity? They let a lof of information through

To play the blues correctly, you dont get a sweetspot
-
i cant believe you didnt get paid. At least you dont have to buy any drive pedals for the forseeable

I feel you bro, DIY has these perks. Can you record anything? I can help, depending on the type of sound, it might be a ground/reference issue, or static for example. I can try to do diagnostic based on the sound itself. My failure was a different story, I blew up the input in the icepower because I was trying to bridge it with another amp and see how it worked, I realized I made a short circuit too late.
oh wow sorry to hear that pal. i seem to be back to normal for the time being, maybe it was the kemper being a bit finnicky. ive had rig manager being a bit unresponsive after updating etc, it might have stabilised more hopefully.
it was a faint buzz riding immediately on top any note played, so assume it was the kemper spluttering

Any more people try the BAM200? Wonder if I would even tell the difference between it and the SD 170 if I used the settings that were posted earlier. Just trying to get that amp in the room feeling and tone.
If those settings are used for a neutral amp the BAM will be great, and way cheaper
-
So is it a case of increasing the drive pedal volumes actually changes the sound characteristic? i always assumed the kemper volumes just added the volume with the same sound
-
started to get a slight buzz noise on my ice poweramp install. Only when guitar signal is being played, disappears completley when no notes are played. Changed guitars, cables and resoldered the jack. Any ideas?

Slowly I get the grip on how the drive works.I still need a shaper to get there where I want in some cases. It is all about this "attack" thing for me..tube overdrive is just more responsive and "direct".In my ears.
Anyway..
I guess OD pedals for me will always remain "cheap distortion" and a thing of the early 80s.I can't change this.
what are you doing with the shaper? ive never bothered much with the ODs, but with these new additions i might pay more attention to it
-
i seem to like the MBritt ones as they sound quite natural, and i dont hear the mic in the profiles as much as i do others
-
i see one of the reps says to use FRFR , i wonder how that matches up against the kemper kone.
-
great work there

how so?
