Wow! Very authentic, thanks for sharing.

Some serious bending technique here!

Really sweet tones. Humbuckers, huh? I generally prefer SC PUPs with Fender amps, but that sounded sweet!
Wouldn't have imagined HB's, too. Sounds great!

Froschn:
I get what you mean, but my experience is different. I can work the KPA just like my AC 30.
And I play my gigs with exactly one profile (which contains a distortion and a loudness boost for soloing). -
wow, Hugh Grant with a guitar!
-
Isn't there some problems with different sized cavity's in the back?
No, that was a problem with the camplifier from KPA-solutions. -
I like it, too! Great technique you got going from riffing to sweeping.

Welcome back! Has it really been a year?

The final truth, as I understand it, is that a complete separation between amp and cab is an illusion anyway. An amp will have a 'certain' sound only in conjunction with a 'certain' cab.
Change the cab, and you will also change the sound of you amp.IMO only the KPA is able to capture this interaction between amp and cab accurately.
When we change the cab in the KPA and replace it with another, at he same time we apply a little of the amp DNA that cab was captured with.
But this is a small price that we pay.
We get maximum authenticity when we use the cab the amp was captured with.
We get interesting hybrids when we apply different cabs to different amps.
In the end it's all about the sound and livelyness of it all.
And it's very obvious to me that the KPA delivers here, more than the competitors (and I've had them all). -
Just wait till we're approaching 2.0.....

Welcome! Let the fun begin!

would be great... I would also like to see the satus of the stomps per Rig on my HD500.... which I am using with a lot of satisfaction as a controller with all functions in the meantime until Kemper is launching its own floorboard... hopefulliy in summer...
It's as easy as with the FCB: program on/off status of the FX per rig and you're done. Note that you have to set up 'dummy FX' in the HD 500 otherwise the LED's don't light.
-
how does the KPA know for which Rig he has to use the "clean sense" or the "distortion sense" settings.
thx
If you don't lock the input settings (note that normally Input is locked by default) they get stored with the preset. This way you can set up different patches suited for different guitars/pickups.

I have the SoundSide FXII patches and they don't sound as good or as real as my fremen presets in my Ultra with it's nice IR's. So maybe the IR's that were profiled in that set are not as good as they could be?
Remember that the Soundside patches were taken from an Axe II with quite an early firmware (V4, now they are on V10), like Armin stated in this thread.
There has been some development in FAS- land for sure and we all know that Cliff is working hard to continuously improve the Axe.
It's got nothing to do with IR. -
I also have a huge Redwirez collection on my PC from my Axe days but, like Lance correctly stated, cabs are way more advanced than IR's to me.
And these are one of the few moments where I ask myself why they (at Kemper) gave cab making from IR's such a priority over other things/needs.

Later in the 70ies another guy, Hamburg based technician Peter Strüven, became quite famous with his STRAMP amp line which was endorsed by Jack Bruce, Rory Gallager and Gerry McAvoy, John Entwistle of The Who, Leslie West (to name a few).

It's in the IR, that's the problem, IMO the Kemper speaker sim is just more advanced.
Let's put it this way, for every Axe-FX Profile, there's a better sounding Kemper Profile of the same amp.
Exactly. And that's also why I'm not interested in cab making from IR's at all.
