so, for example, the 27 is an on/off while the 68 is used to control parameters with an expression pedal.

That's exactly my understanding of these different CC's.

I have sold my JTV-69 because haptically ist wasn't working for me, and soundwise was much inferior to my Strats and Teles that I normally play.
Modeling- wise it's a good step up from the previous Variax 500, 700, and 600 which I all owned.
In the long run, after having seen the development of guitar modeling since 2003 (the year when the original Variax 500 appeared), I don't think that it will play a major role in the future, unlike amp Profiling, which IS the future.
Enjoy the KPA ride!
I already said it in another thread: There's definitely some magic going on when using the monitor out and switching off the cabs.
Cab off plus EQ on Monitor Out opens up lots of possibilities
Display MoreSometime in the near future, I would like to get the Kemper.
I have tons of experience with all other modelers, but the only FRFR speaker I have used was an Alto TS112A-- which, I found somewhat boomy, with a harsh top end.
Can anyone recommend any FRFR powered/active monitors which are relatively inexpensive, which you really like the sound of in conjunction with the Kemper?
My budget would be less than $800.
Thanks!!
**Forgot to add, I would also prefer a lighter weight powered FRFR speaker, and the main types of music I play are 7 string detuned metal, Eric Johnson, David Gilmour, and Shawn Lane styles. So I'd need the speaker to NOT fart-out, but prefer a 10" speaker for lighter weight if it can handle lower tunings (AEADGBE)**
Hmm... I think nearly everybody will recommend their own choice of speakers then.
According to your question and your budget I can recommend the Atomic FR.
You'll find them used for way under $ 800. Weight 21 kg. Sounds very good with the KPA.
Another bump from me.
I'm not only interested in the original single amps but also in hybrid profiles when Franz mixes them all.
I believe that a combination of effects incl. their on/off - status gets saved with a full rig.
And yes, FX are part of the KPA's OS, unlike rigs.
You can delete a rig and you can delete an effect preset, but you can't delete an effect.
Although I'm not even a surgeon.
As per the Line 6 POD HD500, does the KPA have a built in looper function
Not yet.
and can it run dual signal chains which can be paned hard left and right or a blend of the two?
No, it can't. But you don't need to and won't miss this feature as the KPA's tonality is so rich in itself that you will only want to play.
Also, has it been confirmed that a dedicated foot controller will be launched for the KPA? (along the lines of the MFC-101)
Yes, confirmed and will come.
If it's too overdriven I would turn down distortion sens first.
What is your distortion sens set to? (Input section)
Mhhh... An option could be showing a confirmation window before actual shutdown... After all, one is not supposed to switch the unit off too often.
There could be other accidental events (random contacts while movin the unit or passing by) by which a confirmation could be handy... And they could always add an option to turn the... option on or off in the general settings
Very good idea!
No, it is then a "favourite" if the option in the system menu is set. "My rig" means all rigs where I am the author!
Timo
OK I got that wrong.
Thanks for the clarification.
Is this procedure only save for deleting rigs or can we add rigs or stomps this way, too?
I think it's safe to add rigs and stomps this way, but don't do any renaming outside the KPA.
When you save a rig under a different name ist becomes 'your rig'.
Close miking should not capture any room information.
Why a rack if you can have a better looking head?
Get a hard case for gigging.
We will soon have tour cases available that can be placed onto your 4x12 cabinet. Lift the upper case cover and you're done. Definetly looks more amp-like.
Soon available?
I think Thomann has carried a KPA flight case for months now.
I have one and transporting / gigging the KPA is a breeze.
Simply give 'em a prefix like a number, e.g. 01x, 02y, etc.
very true ...I think it would be a great help for many men(even fully grown ones) if we had some short clips with guitar in the mix and then the same guitar by itself. anyone up for it?
As an example listen to this:
http://guitarsquid.com/posts/t…ated-guitar-tracks/12420/
It's eye (and ear) opening... Very educating!
Lucky, don't forget that tomorrow is Sunday and there will be nobody available.
But Monday morning you're good to go.
As for the yellow paper: IIRC this is mainly for use with the normal return policy.
In case of a support it's much better to phone them and open a support ticket IMO.
They're great people and very helpful.
