Well done Mats, very jazzy!
Tack, Per!
Most would probably say too smooth jazzy!

Nailed it, Brother Mats.
The melodic and mix sweetening is spot-on too. So tasteful!
Thanks, Nicky!
Your constant words of support does wonders for the all too often shaky self confidence.
Next tune coming up is definitely more LC.

Hi Mats,
great tune in the Lee Ritenour style!
Besides of Larry one of my other favorite guitarists in this genre.
Thanks, Hafi!
Those two are my favourites in this smooth jazz genre as well. I listen to them intensely for periods of time and then not for a while and then back again. Today I think I'll get a double dose by listening to "Larry & Lee".
Cheers,
Mats N
In the light of your influences mentioned above: Perfect! Nothing more to say...
...except that I also like the Drums (great snare sound, dry but punchy) and the keys a lot. It's the overall combination which makes the tune a killer
Thanks, Deadman!
The drums is a kit I put together in Superior Drummer 3 and the keys comes from Spectrasonics Keyscape. It's the LA Rhodes. Wonderfully playable.

Very cool smooth jazz Mats, well done , you nailed the vibe & tones .
I'm interested in these MM basses, how do you like'em ? I wonder about the neck , as I don't have big hands.
Thanks Renaud!
I really like the MM bass and the neck is really nice. I think I have average hands but I do like somewhat bigger necks. For exemple, I've never liked Ibanez's thin necks at all and even the newer Fender C necks are a bit too thin for me.

I really like this one, Mats. Well done! Very nice playing, both guitar and bass.
Thanks, Sam! Appreciated!

I started listening to Rit and LC in the early 1980s and the influence is still with me.
Guitar is a Collings I-35LC and the bass is a Sire Marcus Miller V7 Ash.
I hope you'll enjoy it!

Hej Per,
This is my favourite track from you so far. Such a great mood piece.
You've succeeded very well with ambient parts that don't step on each other.
Cheers,
Mats N
I so admire people who can play proper rhythm guitar and not step all over the song. Here, that skill is well displayed.
I'd love to sit in with you guys.
Cheers,
Mats N
I usually don't care to listen to these kinds of tracks but to your huge credit you not only kept my interest all through the tune. You also had me curious if I should try to get into that as well.
Cheers,
Mats N
This is my cup of tea and I enjoyed the groove immensely. The massive brass hits oozes vintage sample charm.

Great lead tones & phrasing Mats, especially that fuzz lead theme
Thanks Waraba!
I've come to the conclusion that I'm more of a composer than a guitar player so I appreciate the comment about the theme.

Hi Mats,
great that you´re back making music.
Great tune! As Monkey Man said: I can hear a Carlton inspired song too
Thanks, Hafi! The Carlton ghost seem to be stalking me.
Cheers,
Mats N
Now we are having fun. Stay with it Killer!
Thanks, I'll post my new song shortly. Very different, though.
Cheers,
Mats N
Great sound and great composition Mats. I like the super cool flow in it
Hope your shoulder gets better soon...
Thanks for the kind words. Both about my music and my health.
Cheers,
Mats N
I can hear you had some fun, Mats.
Larry made an appearance on your noodle too. How lucky you are!
Lots of fun!
And LC stayed for the next two tunes as well.
Cheers,
Mats N
Hi,
In November, I fell and broke a bone in my shoulder so the doctor said no guitar playing for the rest of the year.
So this is my first effort since the accident.
It started out as a collage of guitars sounds I felt inspired by and then I added a melody/theme to it.
Sometimes I just enjoy going where the next idea takes me.
Cheers,
Mats N
The OD guitars here are really fat and chewy.
