Yes, the WPS function had been working in ternal revisions, but is unfortunately broken in 8.5.0 public beta. Sorry!

It's currently being worked on. Watch out for the next revisions!

Details finden Sie in Das Große Handbuch.

yes, there is an issue with that WPS function in the public beta version we released, sorry! And none of our testers noticed it, because it had worked before and the netork was already acquainted. It's currently being worked on. Watch out for another public beta version. Sorry again!

There is no network setting for PROFILER Head and Rack models. Although we never published this - because it was lacking purpose - this network connection via ethernet cable works since years. So you don't even need OS 8.5 for that part. You just need OS 8.5 to communicate with Rig Manager for iOS(R).

We just published PROFILER OS 8.5.0 public beta!

It introduces Wi-Fi for the PROFILER Stage as well as support for the new Rig Manager for iOS(R), which is available in the Apple(R) Store for iPADs.

Details how to set up your Wi-Fi with PROFILER Stage and how to use Rig Manager for iOS(R) with other PROFILER models can be found in the corresponding documentation (Addendum 8.5 and Main Manual 8.5).

This is from the Main Manual three pages chapter "Performance Mode":

    • While navigating Slots within a Performance via the <PAGE> buttons of the PROFILER Stage, or the left and right RIG navigation cross buttons of the other PROFILER variants, any modifications (e.g. loading another Rig, or cranking up Gain) are interpreted as editing, and will be retained until you move to another Performance. Don’t forget to store before you load another Performance, if you want to make those modifications permanent.
    • foot controller, or foot buttons of the PROFILER Remote or Stage, any former modifications within that Performance are interpreted as temporary tweaks during a live performance and will be discarded immediately. If, for example, you had activated a booster in module B, or increased Delay Mix via pedal, any such changes will be lost if you switch Slots remotely. This way, you can always be sure that Slots will be loaded in their original, predictable state during live performances.
    • However, there is an exception to this practice: While Rig Manager is connected, any modifications are interpreted as editing and maintained during Slot changes as long as you stay within the same Performance.

Changing Slots via MIDI counts as performing, not editing.

If the internal clock of your new PROFILER Stage always looses date and time when the unit is disconnected from the power network, it requires service. Sorry for the bad news and inconvenience, but this can't just be fixed by a software update nor by just exchanging the battery. Our service has a permanent fix. Please open a support ticket here and the situation will be dealt with professionally:

Just to let you know, the clock issues has not other functional implications. So, it's safe to use the unit for guitar playing.

It appears, that the cable tricked you out! ;) Such things happen.

Often there seems to be an element of selective perception. People seem to start from the assumption "whatever happens must be caused by the last update" and then oberservations seem to fall in line and seem to support that.

What I'm suggesting is just in the interest of everybody's effectiveness: When one is using release revisions - no betas - and is facing an issue as generic as loss of sound, which would normally be obvious, affect many users and therefor come to the surface during the weeks if not months of internal tests plus beta tests, one should try to rule out other possible causes objectively, before sharing uncertainty and doubt amongst other users and consider downgrades.

There is a chapter in the Main Manual:

    Updates, Backups and Sharing Sounds

What's in there applies to all PROFILER models. Stage is no different.

First make sure, you have a USB stick, which is acquanted to the PROFILER,. When you plug it in the first time it creates three folders on that stick: OS Update, Backups, Shared.

Rigs to be imported need to be placed in folder Shared.

Don't know how Michael Britt delivers his packs, but assume it's a zip file container. You cannot import a zip file. You need to unzip the file container first. Rig files with extensions .krig or .kipr can be imported. These have normally a size of 5-6KB.

Had you compared the captured PROFILE against the Reference Amp after PROFILING? Both the virtual (Kemper Amp) and the real (Reference Amp) signal chain should sound the same. Both include the Neumann mike by the way - one virtually, one physically.

If the PROFILE is authentical and sounds horrible with a distortion pedal, the original should sound horrible with that distortion pedal as well.

There is no other software controller affecting the two sides of the stereo signal other than Panorama. There are also no hardware switches per channel. Even if we wanted to we cannot switch off one side of the MAIN OUTS and leave the other side on via software. It is not the software and not the update!

Simplify your environment: If the issue happens again, plug in headphones in both MAIN OUTPUT TS sockets. Both times you should hear a signal on the same side of your headphones. If that is the case, the PROFILER is not causing the issue.
