The Rigs that come preinstalled with the PROFILER are called factory content and are a selection of Rigs from other Rig packs covering different instruments and musical genres. So it's natural that there are duplicates in Rig Manager comparing Factory Content 8 with other Rig packs.

The value of the Factory Content 8 is, that any installed base user can install this very same selection in one go, that represents the current as delivered state. Be aware, that it is not possible to import the very same Rig multiple times. If a Rig is already present in your browse pool, it will not be imported a second time, if Rig name and creation date/time are identical.

This thread is about an issue of effect presets, not Rigs.

That is normal behavior, if you have just plugged an open cable to one of the PEDAL sockets configured as Morph Pedal. Or the cable is not open, but a switch is connected, which is open. Or an expression pedal is connected, but either cable or pedal are broken.

The Morph Pedal is always functional. As soon as you set up the first parameter with a Mophing range you will see a thick bar reflecting the Moprh Pedal moves and position. Before you set up the first parameter a thin bar reflects the moves and position instead. As soon as you move the pedal to toe position the PROFILER is ready to accept any changes of continuous Rig parameters as their Morph values.

We can outrule, that the OS update has screwed the Volume Pedal Location in your Slots and set it all over the place. The stored Performances are not stored differently by the upgrade.

Perhaps you have accidentally released the locking of the Volume Pedal in Performance Mode and what you now experience are the real stored Volume Pedal Locations.

The Main Out XLR outputs are very hot. That is the reason why the -12 dB PAD option had been added.

There is no such need for the internal power amp, which is fed by the signal of the MONITOR OUTPUT. You could either reduce the Power Amp Boost and/or reduce the Monitor Output Volume by -12 d B or even more.

These example Performances are part of the as-delivered state and just demonstrate various options to organize sounds and related workflow in Performance Mode. The Rigs in the Slots of those Performances are picked from the pool of Factory Rigs which are available in our Rig packs. Example Performances are the same for all PROFILER models.

If you still feel these are of value, you could export and import these via Rig Manager.

That page is not ours and outdated and some suggestions are questionable. I don't know of any situation, where you need to shut down, disconnect the cable and wait fifteen minutes before you retart to solve any issue. Dancing during those 15 minutes does also not help.;)

The MIDI reset you are mentioning had just erased the internal archive with Browser Mode MIDI assignments in older OS versions. After that reset no MIDI program change could load any Rig in Browser Mode, because all assignments are gone. And one has to reassign MIDI program change numbers to Rigs before one can use MIDI that way. So even in the past this could not solve your problem. In current software the internal data structure has been changed and this reset doesn't exist anymore. If you hold the QUICK button while powering on, you just perform a normal start.

I guess, you had changed the receiving MIDI Global Channel and another reset (e.g. holding the SYSTEM button during a restart) recovered "Omni".

MIDI Global Channel is definitely not screwed by any upgrade.

The function Enable Slot is related to Performance Mode. This might explain, why only Rig Button work while navigating through New Performances. Such default Performances have just Slot 1 enabled before you start to fill the Slots with your selected Rigs.

If Rig Buttons don't work in Browser Mode this must have another reason.

Have you considered using Bypass at Heel? Perhaps this "pedal bumps up just a tiny bit when I take my foot off" doesn't happen in heel position.

Bypass at Heel as well as Bypass as Toe already have a grace area by the way.

We tested this with current software and are not able to reproduce any Rig Name confusion in Rig Manager. The reference Rig stays completely intact including its original Rig Name. And the new Rig is added to the end of the list under its new given name. The Rig count goes up by one.

The level of the volume pedal is maintained except, if it is below 25%. The logic is assuming that nobody intends to shift wah nor pitch via pedal, while volume is turned down completely. So, if the pedal volume is below 25%, it is raised to 25%, so that you hear something. This is an element of the pedal link logic that has evolved over time.

These pedal links have their limitations. Depending on what you intend to do there can be logical conflicts. We are currently not planning to make it even more complex adding more options.

So, no original Rig/PROFILE gets overwritten as the title suggests. The reference Rig with PROFILE is maintained. The problem only exists in Rig Manager, not in the PROFILER itself. Rig Manager temporarily shows a wrong Rig Name. It is aligned after a restart of Rig Manager? Which OS and Rig Manager versions are involved?

This video shows two Rigs with identical names, but different creation dates. This is absolutely in line with my above statements. If there are two Rigs with the same name obviously the original Rig has not been overwritten. The name of the reference Rig gets suggested for the new Rig including the new PROFILE. If you don't edit the name on the edit screen, it assumes the same name as the reference Rig.

The PROFILER cannot automatically create a meaningful name for the new Rig by itself. You need to enter it. The name of the reference Rig is the default, which is convenient if you create multiple new PROFILEs of the same amp in a row and just vary settings, channel, microphone ... So you might intend to vary the names only partly.
