If one of the three headphone wires has a loose contact - I guess it's ground - it is possible, that the mono portion of the signal - which is the same between left and right side - is cancelled out and just the wet portion, which is different on left and right side, survives. We had that scenario once. Just a defective headphone cable.

If you are monitoring via balanced XLR cables, and the cable on one side has its hot wires crossed, and you mix both in a mixing desk, you could have a similar cancellation effect.

Both issues outside of the PROFILER.

When you play a Merged Profile through a physical guitar cab, you hear the Direct Amp Profile, which is the authentic simulation of the original amp. If you think it sounds "nasal" then the original amp sounded "nasal", which you can only judge if you were present at the PROFILING event.

When you play a Studio Profile through a physical guitar cab, you hear an approximation of the amp. If you like this better, we take this as a compliment. The fact, that the Direct Amp Profile sounds more authentically doesn't mean that you have to like it better.

Rig Manager saw the update on my iMac but said it had errors (twice) after downloading it and trying to install. Im now trying to install it manually by transferring the .bin file to my usb-stick. So far it seems to be installing ok this way- It booted ok. FYI.

The update via Rig Manager had been tested and many users have performed it successfully since 6.0 is public.

can we have the new reverb presets without having to install factory rigs like we did in the last reverb update ..I don't really want to have to re-install all the other unused ( in my case ) factory presets ...? or am I missing something ?

Simply press "Factory Presets" in System Settings after the upgrade to 6.0. This function just imports presets - no Rigs - effectively already since 5.7.

While the preparation of the new effect selection screen, other features, and numerous fixes are progressing and right on track, we want to take the opportunity to publish two additional sophisticated reverb effect types asap: Formant Reverb and Ionosphere Reverb. Details are explained in Addendum 6.0. There are also 30 additional presets available based on these two new reverb types, which can be imported pressing "Factory Presets" in System Settings after the upgrade.

We have decided to call this new revision "6.0" and the next revision including all other enhancements "7.0". We don't expect this interim step to cause any delays regarding the release of 7.0.

+58% is not the default. The value of "DLY+REV Routing" in Rig Settings equals the setting of its predecessor "Del+Rev Balance" in the reverb menu avoiding any related sound changes. If all your Rigs include this value now, it means, it has been this way in the past.

We suspect you hear the guitar directly - not via the PROFILER - and that original signal gets mixed with the transposed signal of the PROFILER - not in the PROFILER but in your ears. That even happens with headphones. You would not be the first experiencing that phenomenon. The unamplified strings of your guitar are quite loud. That's why we asked you to record the PROFILER signal and just listen to the recording. You could also monitor the PROFILER signal, while somebody else is playing guitar in the neighbor room with door closed.

Check all three Aux In Mix parameters and try to dial even below 0. There could be a rounding issue. Perhaps it is 0.06 and shows 0. It really has to be at the absolute minimum.

The point is, if you tweaked it as you mentioned at the beginning, it is not the preset anymore.

An effect preset is an effect type with specific settings with a given name like "Ping Pong". If you tweak the settings, all your current state has in common with the preset "Ping Pong" is the effect type displayed on the left. In fact your current settings could now be closer to another preset or even identical to another preset. Settings in various presets could be very different, or very similar, or even identical. So a statement like "currently using preset Ping Pong with tweaks" would not be logically correct.

Do you own a powered PROFILER? In case yes, what if you deactivate the internal power amp?

Please explain, which output sources you have tested. Just "off"?

Have you activated "Monitor Stereo"? And is anything connected to the Direct Output?
