The Axe-fx forum is like any other product forum. It is not better or worse.
That's where you're wrong my friend! The Axe-FX forum is far worse than any other guitar product forum. I take it you have not been around the block much?
The problem is not the forum but a part of the people on the forums that just because they own the product they cannot accept that anything else is better or that the product they own is not perfect.
Yes, that's what I've been saying. The problem is that they invested a fortune in the fact that the product is state of the art in every aspect. So naturally, there can be nothing else out there that is better.
Give it time and if the KPA succeeds it will happen the same thing here.
That's bull! We don't have the censorship going on like over the Axe Forum. I have read threads over there that got deleted, just because users were stating their opinion. People have been banned because they dared to express their feelings about what is/was not perfect about the Axe. And I remember a post by Cliff calling his customers "indignant whiners".
LOL, never seen that button before!!!
Thanks Davide!
Agree on everything.
There are rumors that Kemper is exploring the possibility to add a feature that would allow to merge several profiles at different settings in to a seamless mega-profile the would even more accurately reflect the beheaviour of an amp...
???? Seriously??? If Kemper could do this - I think the world would end!
That would be Uber-cool! Where d'you heard that rumor?
Everything Pete said is correct.
The KPA actually captures the snapshot of your favorite setting on the amp. When you roll of your guitar volume, it cleans up very well (similar to the amp you profiled - maybe not 100% but similar). That's why I recommend to people to capture their amp with the tone controls set to what they feel is the sweet spot of the amp - and not a "neutral" setting. You can always shape the captured sound to whatever you like, as the KPA's tone shaping tools are very effective.
*just marking this thread for later - don't mind me* (btw, we could really use a "marking" option)
Doesn't Thomann accept PayPal as well? I always order via PayPal from them.
Credit card would be another uncomplicated payment method. It has worked well (and fast) for me when ordering from the states...
Welcome Tony and Mikael!
Nice to have you guys here!
Holy cow!!!!!!! We gotta get you a KPA ASAP dude!
The Axe-fx forum is a place I stay away from. Total censorship ruled by a bunch of snobs and a lot of mindless followers! I love how Cliff is the first to bash products by competitors on threads at TGP forum just based on specs alone (if a new product has a less state-of-the-art DSP than the AxeFx). Ever seen the movie "Bowfinger" where they have that "mindhead" organization? That's like Fractal Audio.
On a sidenote: how come JonG's nick is the only one that appears in blue colors in "users browsing the forum"? Just wondering... and having a beer after work. P.s. I want mine in purple!
my ears just can't get used to the 8 string tuning.
That's the first time I ever heard an 8 string guitar. Thunderous!
Got a reply from the kemper guys stating that they cannot replicate this problem.
How can this be? We got at least 4 different guys in this thread all saying they got this problem at some point. Did everybody sent detailed error reports via the contact form?
Some audio interfaces/soundcards do not communicate well with the KPA.
This will be resolved soon and it should work with all soundcards then.
Glad to have you back, Jon!
Thanks for this one!!
Did you contact them about that weird issue with the current FW 1.0.2?
Did you reset your KPA by pressing the System button during startup?
I hope they'll upload it today so we can get more of your great cabs!
One beta 1.0.3. on the rocks... coming up!!!
Did you try the triple Rectifier with the gain all the way up?
Or even some of the Marshall profiles with the gain maxed?
Diezel, 5150's etc.,??
You could always also add a boost in front of the amp (like a KPA's Tubescreamer or KPA's RAT).
