I've been cutting way back on how many profiles I keep in my K but some of these will be in there for sure. Thanks.

Yeah, the trouble shooting is annoying and mildly expensive but I'd begin with the converter.
People do tend to quote me often.

I had the same issue with a BF. Half insert the TOSlink cable into the BF and I'd sometimes get a signal, insert it fully and nothing.
It was the converter, one of those generic cheapos from eBay.

It's the age of the quality control tester in China.

Depends on your budget. If you're prepared to spend decent money then Focal get my recommendation.
-
Yeah.
Ditch almost everything in it, which is pretty much what I didn't buy it for but 18 months in and it's become an organisational nightmare.

A nice Danocaster helps, I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure you use the same procedure used to mark a Favorite to unmark a Favorite.
Yep.
Press and hold for 800 profiles, though?
-
you can disable that function and K will not make altered profiles favourites..
you can also do the complete reset of KPA like described in wiKPA.. after that you will have your KPA totaly "naked" with 0 profiles in it
Thanks, that'll help next time I decide to put far too many profiles in there. : )
I also wondered if I 'folderised' the backup file there might be a folder of favourites in there along with all the other folders but no go.

Already tried that route. None of my profiles are stock and the K decides for me to make all altered profiles favourites. Haven't found any batch de-favourite option either.

I'm deleting loads of profiles and I can only do it from the list view (unless there's an easier way?) but it keeps reverting to the button left/right view so the entire process is tedious to say the least. Any way to lock the list view?

Curious looking pickups he has there.

So you guys would be quite happy to spin a dial and whack a few knobs rather than use a keyboard to stamp out your defensive words at me?
lol.
The Yamaha DX7 was the last time I had to mess around with inane dials and buttons just to input a name and that was in the 80's.
Of course most guitarists are stuck in the 80's anyway so maybe it doesn't really matter.

14 or so months without any editor/librarian has about defeated me, I hardly ever fire up the KPA any more because it's a horrible experience and life is too short for this kind of stupid knob twiddling behaviour.
Get your shit together, Kemper!

It's nice to hear a little space in the 'phones but I'd prefer it not to be on the outputs for recording. I know I can turn it off but I'm almost bound to forget at times.

'Tis true. Musicians are far too used to nasty, ugly black boxes, none of which enhance the aesthetic needs of the creative soul. The KPA is thing of beauty and several of my women friends have made appreciative comments. Maybe CK should consider making KPA handbags.

Can't go wrong with the Focal 65's, they are superb. You'll definitely hear things you do want to hear. Plenty low end, too. The revealing aspect of Focal is that they expose bad mixing very well. They'll reveal sloppy recording and playing too. Personally I want to hear those things.
Not that they ever show up with me.
Night and day vs cheaper, so called, studio monitors.

I see the KPA vs Axe love-fest is still in full swing.
I pretty much quit caring after making my choice.
Which was the right choice, obviously.

Try politics and religion forums!
Anyhow, my policy is to not spend enough time on forums to ever end up taking exception to anyone's commentary or attitude.
That way I never have to find out that everyone except me is an idiot.
