I don't know if i'm missing something, but i'm unable to use the feature described in the reference manuel as follows:
Quote
Speed
Use the “Rate” parameter to switch between Slow and Fast rotation. You will notice that the change in rotation
speed is not immediate, thus recreating the acceleration and deceleration of the rotating speakers in
the original.
But how do i switch between Slow and Fast rotation to recreate the acceleration and deceleration of the rotating speakers
There's no midi assignement to control that parameter with an expression pedal or a switch ?
Any suggestions,
I waited for this one !
Thx Xpenno
With that incredible sound you'll find a new drummer soon
Update:
WOW that one smokes !
Thank you MadH
Please don't focus on Armin
This is a general discussion about copyright on profiles
Even if you consider unfair that somebody charges for something that you give for free
I'm not considering that unfair, but i think that the people who charge for profiles will be trying to protect their profiles from sharing by compromising the KPA software, and here things get nasty.
I've got no problem with somebody who charges for profiles, as long as free sharing is still possible.
I don´t understand why is it so hard for people to understand that just because it is easy to make a copy of something that does not give you the right to get it for free or share it and don't pay anything to the author.
So you think if i buy a profile like a 57' Deluxe, tweak it, assign another cab, and make it sound like a hotrodded Deluxe, i don't have the right to share it with the communitiy ??
Weird discussion - isn't it ?
Ok - real life mode on:
There's no way to avoid the sharing of profiles except protecting them in a way that will restrain the "open source mind" of the KPA!
I've booked a profiling session in a recording studio in february, and the value of the amps i'm going to profile is about 20K cabs included!
The studio fee is about 50 Euros per hour!
I wan't to profile those amps in a professional way for my personal use!
And i'm probably going to share those profiles FOR FREE!!, just to give back to the community what i took from it.
If more people act this way, this place is going to grow and make lots of happy KPA users !
Trying to make money out of every opportunity is NOT COOL ANYMORE !!!
That's my point
Cheers
Grazie Davide !!!
An additional sorting option 'categorie' would be nice.
Agree !
Is it possible to share entire Backups
Thanks for another great profile - FOR FREE !!!
As there is no sort criteria by amplifier brand or type, i started overwriting the Author's Tag with the Amplifier name or type, and guess what, that works pretty well for me. It's a nice feature to browse through all the Fender, Marshall, Mesas or whatever and makes comparison a lot easyier.
Takes a little time but makes choices easier for me!
Take a backup before changing tags.

Here's one for your Strat and Tele neck PU's out there !
Switch off the boost if you've got hot PU's !

(Selling Profiles, Bullshit !)
Selling Profiles ? Are you nuts ?
How are you going to avoid sharing after you sold it once ? Are you goin' to put a digital waterprint on your profile that will corrupt the KPA software - or what ?
Forget it !!!
This is what I use: RCF 310 A http://www.thomann.de/de/rcf_art_310_a.htm
I first tried out: RCF 312 A http://www.thomann.de/de/rcf_art_312_a.htm which was a recommendation by a friend, who works in the guitar department at Thomann's. They have been using this one for years for presenting direct in guitar systems. And they are still happy with it.
I liked the bigger one with the 12" speaker a little more. But just a little. And as I have to carry them on my own, I preferred the 7 kg lighter one in the end. I play mainly into the PA and need it as a monitor for myself. Mostly just to put a little bit more personal feel to the in ear situation. Therefore I don't need a too loud monitor. But this thing can shout, no doubt. It's nice that it can be used as a floor monitor and standing version as well.
It only has a XLR-input. But this wasn't a problem. All my standard cables I used to have with a Jack/XLR worked without a problem.
Well that's what i call a great info. Makes a decision much easier !
Thanks y-mun

I guess you already have visited the Fractal audio AMPS & Cabs forum :P.
Hopefully this forum will be as active regarding Monitor, Cab & Speakers in the future.
No, i've never used any modellers before the KPA.
I'll check that, thanks for the info!
I'm about to buy a Fullrange monitor for the KPA Monitor out.
Should be possible to use it as Floormonitor and Upright Cab for smaller gigs and it should have a jack input .
Budget + - 1000,- Euros.
Thought about QSC K12 or RCF NX-12SMA
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Just great - THANK YOU !
