you said you increased your I/O buffer size already: what value is is set to when this happens?

please try to use decent/high quality USB cables / adaptors.
The updated USB communication is running at a higher speed than before, that is why the quality of the physical USB connection (cable/adaptor/hub) itself has become more critical than before.
-
My computer should be more than fast enough for this task. As I stated above the problem went away after a reboot of both the computer and the Profiler.
OK.. glad to hear it seems to be solved for you then.
-
but maybe it needs a bigger buffer for it?
-
If you're directing that question to me the answer is no.
maybe you could try and see if that does change something for your situation?
-
and? did you try to increase the I/O buffer size?OK.. this is discussed in another thread -
did you increase the I/O buffersize ?
-
this looks like your Mac is not fast enough: try to increase the I/O buffer size in Logic Pro
-
just put kaos.bin in rootfolder (=topmost folder) of the USB stick, and it should update normally from the USB stick
-
if you have a Stage, now the USB communication speed is much higher, this makes the USB cable and USB-hub quality more critical
-
What kind of PROFILER do you have? is it a Stage? With the implementation of USB-audio, now the communication speed between PROFILER and computer is much higher: therefore the used USB cable has to be USB2.0 high-speed certified. You could try to use another USB cable.
-
maybe you could try WASAPI ? it seems StudioOne supports it? In that case you won't be needing Asio4all.
-
- do you have a USB2 hub you could insert in-between for testing?
- is the WiFi enabled on your Stage? : does it make a difference whether WiFi is enabled/disabled?
-
this is how mine looks.
-
Edward: IIRC you reported similar/same issue, also on 2 different PC's? Maybe you can make a picture of your used USB cable?
-
- could you make a picture of the USB cable (both ends)?
- what kind of model is your PROFILER?
-
After update 9.02 and RM 3.4.29 on macOS Monterey v12.6.6 and on windows too, this message appears on screen:
you state 'on macOS' as well as 'Windows' ?
here are some questions for you:
- which model is your PROFILER?
- did you actually use 2 different PC's ? or is this on the same Mac running different OS? (or is it a Hackintosch even maybe?)
- could you make a picture of the used USB cable? -
OK.. so for Reaper there is no need for ASIO then, or is it ?
-
by the way: does WASAPI work for you?
Preferences/Device/Audio Device Settings/Audio device settings:
Audio System: WASAPI
Mode: Exclusive mode
Input device: <profiler>
Output device: <profiler>
Input channels: 4
Output channels: 4
Block size: 256 samples (<---- maybe increase this if there are crackles in the audio)
Preferred depth: 24 bit
Samplerate: 44100 Hz
this should result in fine audio I/O, without the need to revert to ASIO/asio4all

@jojo3110 : are you sure your MIDI interface is handling system-exclusive messages correctly at all ? A lot of (cheaper) USB MIDI interfaces make a mess out of system-exclusive messages. Maybe you could test with NRPN (=regular MIDI control messages) instead ?
example (KPA's MIDI channel set to '1' or 'omni') : send 4 control messages as follows:
AMP on = B0 63 0A B0 62 02 B0 06 00 B0 26 01
explanation:
B0 63 0A = NRPN parameter number MSB (set to 0x0A -> address page = 'Amplifier')B0 62 02 = NRPN parameter number LSB (set to 0x02 -> parameter = 'On/Off')
B0 06 00 = NRPN parameter value MSB (set to 0x00)
B0 26 01 = NRPN parameter value LSB (set to 0x01 -> switch 'on')likewise:
AMP off = B0 63 0A B0 62 02 B0 06 00 B0 26 00
note: in 'running status' mode the same messages can be sent as:
AMP on = B0 63 0A 62 02 06 00 26 01
AMP off = B0 63 0A 62 02 06 00 26 00
