A bit off the main theme, but I must say that Logic's Amp Designer Pro sounds surprisingly good, especially the low to mid-gain stuff...

Just curious if anyone has successfully tried doing IRs with a Fishman Aura, etc for use with acoustic guitar with a piezo pu? If so, are there any rigs like this currently posted?
Thanks, Radster

Yes - very big differences in tone/EQ.

+ 1,
I don't write off any profile until experimenting with cabs.
Exactly! If you are like me, you will find that a few select Cabs make almost any Amp profile sound great.... -
To be more specific, the Amp model is certainly important in capturing the 'vibe' we want, but the Cab seems to have much more influence on whether the overall tone sounds natural/organic and believable to my ears...

I'm now (thankfully) off the road for a while, and am digging into my KPA big time! At this point, I am feeling like this: The most crucial part of the KPA tone is the Cab, not the Amp - certain Cabs instantly sound more natural, full, and 'amp-like'. The key would seem to be how to focus on getting great Cab sims during the profiling process - many times the final profiled tone is accurate, but when you listen to the Cab itself (with another amp model), it sounds rather strange, and sometimes unusable. I would really like to know what techniques to use to get consistently good Cab captures which sound good without unnatural phasing & frequency peaks.

I played some solos through a rented Mk IIB once, and it was *SO easy* to get a smooth singing tone right off the bat - Excellent Amp! In some ways, I like the tone better than the Mk IIC+ ...

What and where is 'the amp factory'?
-
Has anyone out there got what they consider to be a dead-on accurate profile for this 'amazingly hard to capture' amp? I, like many others find this tone to be perfect for many melodic solo situations, but I have not as yet heard a convincing profile for the KPA...

I agree that the early tweed Gibsons are excellent amps - especially with the original Jensen speakers. My Lancer profile was of a particular Lancer I modified for higher gain and less 'mush' in the low end. The speaker was the original Jensen 12'.

Men heard the 006 cab & many men rejoiced - these were many happy men.

Many grown men love the blue jeans, and want to be buried in them - especially ones with holes in the knees and/or buttocks...
-
One man has not had a chance to play his KPA since these new gates were added...
-
Love the original look of the Kemper....
-
I have experienced this with one or two of my amps as well...

As I said when Bill joined the forum, he is a true tonemeister!

Reissue.
When you adjust the tone by ear, and not by eye, you should have a perfect match.
Good point - closing the eyes or having someone else do the tweaking while you're not looking, thus eliminating the preconceptions of knob settings.... -
For the record, I don't go around looking for aliasing when I play - if it's *way in the background* it doesn't bug me too much. With the high gain Stomp ODs, I heard it immediately & obviously, so I started posting about it. I will not even have a chance to try 1.0.9 until our current tour is over (Dangit!)
I am very happy to see that Kemper is moving ahead on the various issues being raised, and believe the KPA is going to have it's greatest advances ahead!
Christoph: I love the new time-saving features and gates you added in 1.0.9

Look man, you have your own 'issues'. My Kemper sounds great.
What? I am talking about the next generation KPA OS currently under testing....what are you referring to?
