You wanna bet?
Sure, which guitar of yours are you willing to risk?

Lot of stuff there..but I won't touch them for now
The worst that could happen is that you need to reinitialize your flash and start over again
My kpa is pretty stable so I'm not real sure what you're talking about...
A significant number of KPA users (including me) are running into stability and reliability issues.
Hate that tone. It's that same harsh/raspy digital high end I hear on most AxeFX clips, even higher res audio clips.
And this seems to be more simple eq matching than the "profiling" the way Kemper does it..
Well, it sounds like simple EQ Matching, actually.
+100000, it shouldn't be a big deal with the profiling capabilites of the KPA.
Idea: you put the isolated mp3 or wav guitar track on your USB pen, the KPA picks it up and creates a profile based on the matched guitar tone, which you can tweak (and maybe refine?) after.
Display Morein the manual it says
"immediately after the startup screen you will be prompted to set the time and date and enter your name etc"
i didnt get any of that and theres already a date in there. I called thomann specifically to ask them not to send me a B-stock kemper. Twice.
Maybe that's just me but i have the right to be stupid enough to pay a bit more to get the same product.
I dont see another explanation for that except they sent me one, and in another thread about problems registering someone mentionned thomann did the same thing to him.
I hope i am wrong but if that is the case i am pissed off. (i asked somebody to bring them to my country on the plane with them btw so i cant return it back in that case; i know its not a big deal and im being a kid - ill enjoy it for what it is regardless but i dont like being lied to when doing business.)
Very unethical and unprofessional.
I hope i am wrong, in which case i will gladly apologize. for now i will try to register it as soon as i have the time cause its a bit chaotic at the moment.
Cheers guys.
I got my KPA from Thomann as well, also didn't have the option to set up the time and date. I don't think mine was a B-Stock.
First thing I thought when I saw the KPA - "It looks like an oscilloscope".

I was right.
You mean the master volume? That migh† change the feel of †he amp as a cranked amp pushes harder on the power tubes. You might be right I am just guessing.
Let's make this straight:
There are 3 Volumes.
#1 Master Volume - you control this with the Master Volume knob on the unit; it has no effect on the tone; changes the unit's output level.
#2 Amp Volume - you control this with the Volume knob on the unit; it has no effect on the tone; changes the current rig's volume.
#3 Cab Volume - you control this in the Cabinet section; it has no effect on the tone; changes the current rig's volume.
The thing you are talking about is achieveable by the Power Tube Sag parameter in the Amp's settings.
By the way, although ckemper has now confirmed that none of these volumes alter the sound, I have to agree with guitarnet that I also feel the difference between using the Amp or Cab Volume, even in tone - somehow using the Cab Volume makes the tone fatter and more responsive for me.
Radley, with all my respect...
There is no such thing as a distortion engine or anything like this. There is no such thing as a fundamental amp model or anything.
Out of curiosity, are you playing the KPA through a tube PA and a cab? Because many users doing this reported that the profiled amp sounds exactly the same as the original when played this way. Don't expect the same results that you would IRL with an FRFR or studio monitor solution...
I am just going to guess so you can have a global volume set and then you have the option to set cab volume to different levels between patches.
Yes, but you also have the option to set the amp volume...
Display MoreI enjoyed the "Both Worlds" Rig so much... that .....:

It kicks ass so much Will do some profiling next week, I uploaded a DI profile!
Any profile requests?
Can it do Black Cemetery?
Thanks
Cheers
Is it possible to delete a range of profiles or all profiles? I downloaded a lot from the exchange and have a couple hundred on the KPA. At this point it would be easier to delete a group of profiles or all profiles and start over.
You can do a full erase of the KPA's memory by going into Maintenance Mode (holding the leftmost soft key above the LCD while booting). You can find the whole procedure here:
http://www.soundside.de/support/KPARecovery.htm under "Erase the internal flash memory".
Be aware, however, that doing this erases everything from your KPA, including FX presets and everything. You can init the Factory Rigs from the system menu of the KPA after doing this, though, or restore a backup.
Very professional sounding
Yet another test clip featuring the KPA + My UV777, this time it's a High Gain test of the amazing Legacy Profile by Erik - just little modifications to the original profile. Sorry for the wankage, but I really wanted to record something

Hi guys!
I decided to make a short little clip with a rig I made on the KPA, it's based on the Jazz chorus with the R121 mic. Nothing special, and I didn't really take it seriously, so sorry for the mistakes and stuff

Didn't see this when browsing through. Nothing I'd really want to add, though... what else is coming?
EDIT: Some users report that 1.0.6 has some issues with profiling. So if you're looking to profile an amp - you might wanna hold off on updating.
really?!
Did you get it going again rich axes?
Mine crashed again yesterday.
Twenty minutes cleared it.
Aaargh
Yes, everything seems to be working now, although as I said, I didn't take chances and installed the 1.06 beta in the end.
