Hello fellow KPA-ers,
I am glad to be back here in the Kemper community. I was an early user of the KPA, and I profiled a number of my boutique amps (PWE Event Horizon, Friedman modified Marshalls, Bogners, Mike Fortin modified Marshalls, etc), which I intended on uploading to the rig exchange. However, 18 months ago I had a bit of a crisis, and I had to sell almost all of my gear, including my KPA. I did a backup of all files on my KPA at the time, and I have that stored safely in several different locations (2 computers and 2 flash drives). Fast forward to today - I have a new KPA, but I'm trying to figure out how I can get my profiles out. I just looked at the backup file, and the profiles are not listed individually. Instead, there is just a 1.6 MB file with a .kpabackup extension (and the kaos.bin file in the OS Update folder). It was done early last year, so it's on OS 1.0.4.
I never got the chance to upload them anywhere before I had to sell my KPA. How can I get them now? Thanks for your help. I promise to actually upload them, if I can get them out.
Desiato, Where in Michigan are you located?
I'm NW of Ann Arbor, near Chelsea.
I dont know about others but part of the reason i went for a KPA and FRFR was to avoid the beaming, low resonances, vibrations and rumbling from a 4x12 guitar cabinet played at louder volume.
I get much more crisp punch through my FRFR setup (HD1221) and i dont feel ive lost any low end grunt at all compared to a 4x12. I think you wont feel the need for a sub if you try a good quality stage monitor.
Same here, brother!
Even if you get a huge low end from your cab, most sound engineers are going to EQ it out of the mains. They don't want it competing with the bass or the kick drum.
I ordered a Kemper Uno today. I'm hoping I receive it before the end of next week. I have a gig on September 14th that I would LOVE to use the FCB-1010 with Uno4Kemper on!
Display MoreHey jimmy ,
There are a few options currently.
FCB1010 along with a new chip called UNO FOR KEMPER ... I understand it makes it real easy to program...it's also very inexpensive solution.... But you have to order the micro chip and install yourself. Not hard it seems, just be aware that you can't buy it loaded already (unless you find someone selling a used one... A
Liquid foot plus ( has an editor and all that but its pricey ) looks cool though. There are probably more , but their the main two I read about.
I am going to wait and see how long it takes for the dedicated foot switch from Kemper... CK mentioned its at least several months away. That was in June , so maybe its less
Anyway, here are some links for the UNO for kemper

Thanks, Jerry. I have just ordered an UnO for Kemper chip, and can't wait to try it out with my FCB1010 and Kemper. Any idea how long the Uno chip takes to get to the U.S?
Are these available for sale now? They sound really interesting.
Thanks
Awesome, Pete. I bet that amp rocks. I've got one on order with Ralph.
Thanks for the profile.
Hi Chris,
I think your design has a lot of promise. Just a few suggestions from someone who gigs regularly:
Please, please, PLEASE make the LCD display LARGE enough to read the patch names easily while standing above it.
Also, when you toggle the tuner, it should show up as a graphic in the large LCD display, just like it does in the KPA when you switch to tuner mode. That is SO, SO important for live playing.
Sorry guys, my fault. I've got green light and several steps from Mothership but at the same time real life have been a real bitch (day job). Next week I'll catch up, promised!
No problem! Sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just glad to hear it's a go, and I look forward to seeing the wiki progress
Wiki will be established in a short while ( and hosted by Kemper I think).
This was okayed today by CK at the Messe.
Davide is witness to it.
Any update on the wiki page? Thx.
Short before Burkhard went in holiday. Im on my way to the Musikmesse at the moment, I'll ask.
Thanks for spearheading this. It does make much more sense for Kemper to host it, but I know it's hard waiting for them to get around to doing that.
The Axe-FX wiki saved that piece of gear. Many, many users would have returned it without that resource. It compliments the forum, but is much better for finding out nuts and bolts functional issues.
The Kemper is in DIRE NEED of a wiki page.
Cool tip. Thanks!

Let me be the first Swede to say hello and welcome. We were having fun before and will probably have more fun when you guys start using.
Cheers,

Thanks, Mats! Glad to be here
Yep... It should at least be in the FAQ
I would have seen it in the FAQ!
Thanks, guys, this did the trick! Up and running now
