Here's a cue I did with the MW RokPak on bass and most of the guitars. Really liking the mids in these profiles.

Surely the hardcore tube guys over at Gearslutz don't have as open mind as you and us here. There's definitely some hopeless luddites out there, who's default dogmatic view on "digital" is that it sucks, "there's no way a modeler can match a tube amp". One particularly evangelical tube guy over there even picked the Kemper profile as the "real" amp in a blind AB test. It was hilarious, but sadly did nothing to curb his anti-Kemper crusading despite admitting he has never tried one. That's why it's so refreshing to see an old school highly experienced and heralded guy like yourself always staying abreast of modern technology, never discounting things based on learned biases. Rock on.
Agreed. I grew up listening to Michael's guitar sounds, and to this day they are many of my all time favorites. Keeping an open mind and utilizing the best tools available to make the best records possible is supposed to be the de facto mantra of a good producer. Somewhere along the way, many people seem to have lost sight of that. I suppose that's what separates the best from the rest. Absolutely loving these profiles.

Yeah, these profiles are great. I really like almost all of them, and many of them clean up remarkably well with the volume knob. Awesome work, Michael!

Yeah, there is no legal precedent thus far which I am aware of. The KPA itself is a device which captures sounds, not legally intellectual property. I know Wade from Chandler started a legal action against someone else using IP belonging to Abbey Road or Chandler based on a long thread on Gearslutz - so it seems he might be quite the litigious businessman. Regardless, I don't claim to know on what level MW and crew have been contacted about this whole endeavor, but I will say that if a third party is clamping down on the process of profiling and advertising said profiles, I do wonder what that means for the future of the profiling "industry".

Yeah, I can say that having 2 KPAs running 2 different amps is the way to go in that regard.
-
Yeah, that tone is sick. That album is still one of my top 10 guitar albums of all time. Great stuff!

Cheers Andy - bought Pack 8. Thanks!

I own pretty much all of the Amp Factory packs and very much enjoy them. I will say that in my opinion, especially for us in the US, these packs could be less expensive. $100 for a pack is a lot of money for what is, let's face it, a gratuitous purchase more often than not. I have a ton of killer profiles, including many I've made myself. From here on out (and I am probably not alone in this), any amps added to the collection are just for the sake of adding more amps, as at this point, there are no specific tones I cannot achieve with what I have. If in fact Andy is seeing a sharp decline in sales, it may be a good indicator that the market is pretty saturated with amps, and in order to make sales happen, the cost of them needs to fall within the "impulse buy" financial category. Which, $100 is not for most people. Just my 2 cents. Looking forward to trying these sometime. In any event, keep up the good work Andy.

Sweet! Is there any time frame for release?

It would be nice to have you log on and say "I was wrong" especially for as nasty as some of your posts were to some people. And I'll be more then happy for you to sign over your last paycheck to me.
Hahaha, agreed! -
Well damn, that just made my weekend. Actually, it made my month. Awesome!

if the profiles are as good or nearly as good as the music on your website, fantastic! liked stranded on a planet very much.
have to check those out ASAP. thanks so much for sharing. i do not have two kempers but can reamp, this trick with a mix of two
of your amps sounds totally interesting.
Thanks so much man! I appreciate that. I did use the KPA on a good deal of the tracks on my site, so the profiles are definitely on that level. -
I use Logic Pro X on a Mac Mini in my home studio. Using this system with Pod HD 500 and Axe FX is simple. Both have a USB out that plugs right into the Mac Mini. But unfortunately Kemper doesnt have a USB port. It has electrical SPDIF O/P. In my Google research folks have needed to invest in converters that have not solved and have created other problems(sync issues, etc). After spending $2000+ Im not interested in investing in more gear that may or may not work. I find the lack of USB port very annoying. If anyone has a tried and true solution to this dilemma, I love to hear it.
USB is an inferior way to transfer audio. Either go analog if you have good converters, or go SPDIF.

Feck, Curiouse why you loaded under a different name? I use a few of your older ones live and like them very much
I just put them under my production company name now - more recognizable than my personal nickname Feck. -
A Kemper Foot Controller is needed IMO. The uno4kemper chip is a decent temporary solution....but we need a proper controller.
Definitely agreed. -
Has anybody done live re-amping using 2 Kempers?
Yes, I have used both of mine live simultaneously (and do here in the studio almost 100% of the time). Can't recommend it enough - as a longtime stereo amp fan, the stereo KPA setup is just as great, but plus or minus about 100lbs. -
Hell yeah, that's awesome!

Well, I am certainly hopeful....
